Biden Goes To Bat For Amazon Warehouse Workers.  Issues strong support for unionization:

For a few minutes on Sunday night, President Biden sounded a little like a union leader. “Unions put power in the hands of workers,” he said in a video statement of support for the union drive at an Amazon fulfillment center in Bessemer, Ala. “They level the playing field. They give you a stronger voice for your health, your safety, higher wages, protections from racial discrimination and sexual harassment. Unions lift up workers, both union and nonunion, but especially Black and Brown workers.”

Biden also spoke directly to employers who might try to subvert or sabotage an organizing drive. “There should be no intimidation, no coercion, no threats, no anti-union propaganda. No supervisor should confront employees about their union preferences. Every worker should have a free and fair choice to join a union. The law guarantees that choice. And it’s your right, not that of an employer, it’s your right.”

It’s quite the statement, and it could be a defining movement in the revival of organized laborCould McDonald’s be next?  Punish these anti-labor corporations.

Bravissimo! A policy/strategy to win back the upper mid-west. Undoing the industrial policy horrors of Clintonism is going to take time, but this is a great start.

Can it bee that Biden (team Biden) see that Trump got to the left of the Dems on labor policy?

Is it possible that “centrist” Dems and the DC-bubble based consultant-ocracy sees that it is the country’s best interest to appeal to actual voters? If that is the case, the sun is truly rising on a long term Democratic majority.

    Getting Shit Done

The Biden White House has brokered a deal between Johnson & Johnson and Merck that will have the latter company produce additional supplies of the recently approved J&J vaccines. The Post reports that the President will use the Defense Production Act to give Merck priority in purchasing equipment to ramp up for production.

As noted in the past the Dems abandoned the unions, as a former Teamster I see unions as the antidote to the Jeff Bezos of this world, in unity there is strength and it’s a good start. That and flush Lewis DeJoy and make the post office work again, more then a few Americans rely on the post office.
