Carper and Ben Nighthorse killed the public Option did they not? Carper has always a stooge for insurance, medical tycoons, medical devices companies. We have to put pressure on them to make insurence companies pay for psychiatric and mental health services. We should not let them get away. Here in Delaware they jail mental health people @ $36k a year. Thius is bull shit and its evil and that’s what Republicans and corporate Democrats stand for.

  2. Carper and Coons have never supported a $15 minimum wage. It’s easy to say they do when they’re running in D primaries against progressive challengers.

But Bernie smoked ’em out. They quoted Chamber talking points just like Andria Bennett, and the blessedly-departed Bryon Short and Quin Johnson, did in Delaware.

No compromise now. A $15 state minimum wage bill in Delaware is a must.

  3. Alby says:

What they have in common is that they are all, with the possible exception of Sinema, millionaires. Net worth for each:

    Chris Coons: $10.13 million
    Angus King: $9.49 million
    Joe Manchin: $7.62 million
    Tom Carper: $5.73 million
    Jeanne Shaheen: $3.82 million
    Jon Tester: $3.67 million
    Maggie Hassan: $3.47 million
    Krysten Sinema: N/A

Ken klippenstein took this data from the most recent financial disclosures compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics.

Nice proof positive financial info. Carper has no feelings for citizens he has four government pensions and got rich from being in public office. He was a desaster as governor. More Republican then the Republicans. A real DINO.

$15.00 minimum wage is in the Delaware Democratic Party platform. They simply couldn’t give a fuck.

      • jason330 says:

At the very least, remove it from the platform. Democrats need to stop lying to the public about what they stand for,

        • We’re about to introduce a $15 minimum wage bill in Delaware. Maybe this coming week. The bill would phase in the minimum wage as follows:

          $10.50 in 2022
          $11.75 in 2023
          $13.25 in 2024
          and
          $15.00 in 2025

Sen. Jack Walsh will be the prime sponsor.

On Monday, the Working Families Party, along with UFCW Local 27, SEIU, 32BJ, and Business For A Fair Minimum Wage, will hold a press conference to kick off the campaign for the minimum wage.

Sarah Gamard has the Fuck You Duo’s excuses right here.

Carper: “I have backed a $15 minimum wage on the federal level for years,” Carper said in a statement after the vote. “At a time when our economy is still slowly recovering, though, policymakers have a responsibility to be especially mindful of the fragile state of small businesses all across this country – many of which are fighting just to stay open during this unprecedented crisis.”

Coons: “Every Democrat and many Republicans agree that the federal minimum wage of $7.25 is too low and has been for too long,” Coons said. “It has to be raised. President Biden has called for us to raise it to $15 an hour. I will work with my colleagues on legislation to raise the minimum wage and index it annually.”

What this shows — and, perhaps, what Sen. Sanders intended it to show — is that some people, and we in Delaware elected two of them, will neither put up nor shut up.

  7. bamboozer says:

Agreed, Carper and Coons are dickage writ large and will not change. As noted these people are rich and in some cases like Coons obvious elitists. The question remains how do we flush them.

  8. mediawatch says:

Next time you hear Coons and Carper talk about bipartisanship, you’ll know what the really mean. Nine Democrats join with all the Republicans to kill an increase in the minimum wage.
After months of conning the national media into thinking he’s a Biden whisperer, Coons comes up small on his first significant test.
