Dang, I’ve got one of those spring/summer colds.  I’ve decided that the ‘cure’ of Mucinex is worse than the ‘disease’.  It’s the rare drugged-out feeling that I don’t like…hopefully it will heighten my sense of the absurd as I scour the interwebs for stuff for us to talk about.

FBI Had Warned Giuliani And Sen. Ron Johnson That They Were Part Of Russian Disinformation Campaign. They were warned, back in 2019. This is a big story.   Turns out they relished their roles in spewing lies.  Uh, why didn’t the FBI make this public before the election?  An excerpt:

The warning was part of an extensive effort by the bureau to alert members of Congress and at least one conservative media outlet, One America News, that they faced a risk of being used to further Russia’s attempt to influence the election’s outcome, said several current and former U.S. officials. All spoke on the condition of anonymity because the matter remains highly sensitive.

Johnson’s response is classic:

“Because there was no substance to the briefing, and because it followed the production and leaking of a false intelligence product by Democrat leaders, I suspected that the briefing was being given to be used at some future date for the purpose that it is now being used: to offer the biased media an opportunity to falsely accuse me of being a tool of Russia despite warnings.”

Bottom Line: They’re both traitors.

Florida To Minorities: No Votes For You.  While they were at it, they passed a bill banning transgendered athletes from participating in women’s sports.  Time to boycott Florida. Starting now.

Biden Nominates Second Batch Of Diverse Judges.  Who is this guy?  I like him.

Guys Like This Are Gonna Reap Their Just Rewards:

MACON, Ga. – A former Georgia Deputy pleaded guilty to possessing unregistered firearms resulting from an FBI-led investigation into a violent extremist group, said Peter D. Leary, the Acting U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia.

As part of a California investigation into a man making violent political statements on social media, FBI agents discovered a group text with Griggers, who was a Deputy with the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office. In the group text, Griggers made statements that he was manufacturing and acquiring illegal firearms, explosives and suppressors. He also expressed viewpoints consistent with racially motivated violent extremism, including the use of racial slurs, slurs against homosexuals and making frequent positive references to the Nazi holocaust.

Isn’t it great to have a real DOJ again?

How India’s ‘Triumphalism’ Led To Pandemic Tragedy.  Quite the cautionary tale. And, a must-read.  Bottom line: Nobody’s ‘special’ when it comes to COVID.

Police Accountability Task Force Does Not Hold Police Accountable.  Were you expecting anything else? With that membership? OK, so they support mandating cameras.  However, they voted down ending ‘qualified immunity’ (5 yes, 9 no) for cops and, my favorite, they voted to ‘review’ the Law Enforcement Bill Of Rights.  Review it? What the fuck were they doing for the last year? Garbage in, garbage out. Not changing the ‘bill of rights’ simply enables police excesses.  End the Cop Cabal.  And vote Officer/Rep./Chairman Cooke out of the General Assembly.  This has been an exercise in cynicism, exactly as planned by Speaker Pete.  Disgraceful.

Sarah McBride A Role Model For Trans Kids.  I think it’s her joy and open encouragement of people struggling with what she dealt with.  Man, we’re lucky to have her:

Amid that lack of representation, the recent election of McBride as the first-ever openly transgender state senator in the country not only made waves nationwide, but had an immeasurable impact on her local young constituents. For the first time in history, young trans people in Delaware have a politician who can understand a key part of their identity and advocate for their rights in a way an outsider can’t.

Those kids deserve to see themselves represented in government too, McBride said, and to have representatives who know what it’s like to be a trans person of color or come from a low-income background.

“Hope doesn’t come from a single example,” she said. “Hope comes from a collective.”

What do you want to talk about?

    “Time to boycott Florida.”

I still know too many limousine liberals (or at least upper middle-class Democrats) who take every opportunity to spend their vacation dollars in Trump-land.

“Who is this guy? I like him.”

Markos expressed a sentiment “I was wrong about Biden, and happy to have been wrong” which I can identify with. But we weren’t wrong about Biden – he faked us liberals out. Especially those of us from Delaware who knew Joe as “Biden (D-MBNA). The guy who told a roomful of Wall Streeters “nothing is going to change.” Obama’s “GOP-whisperer” bagman who brought Obama’s capitulation deals to the Republican Senate.

I am happy to have been faked out.

So last night on Fucker Carlson’s show, Rudolf Guiltiany said when they FBI raided his house he asked them why they didnt want to take Hunter Bidens harddrives with them. It was in the warrant so he insisted they should take them. Uh, why does a private citizen have supposed evidence in an FBI investigation?

They’re all still operating in their bizarro bubble, where they think that Clinton-era “scandals” against Democrats will move the needle with the public.

Somebody needs to tell these dumb livestock-fuckers that Trump ruined all that for them. Ralph Northam didn’t resign, and after a few months nobody cared. Andrew Cuomo won’t resign, and in a few months nobody will care.

For some reason they think their double standard flies anywhere outside the livestock-fucking precincts of Fux News. It doesn’t, and they’re going to find that out in November 2022.

First off well said Alby, the Republican tiny tent does not spread much beyond Fox News, and the angry old white people they depend on are dying off. Just not fast enough. As for Florida expect all the states of the deep south to follow their lead as the Republicans essentially admit they can’t win without voter suppression and the racism that drives it. As for Florida will never go there or for that matter any red state.

It’s honestly hard for me to fathom how someone could oppose black history education, how they don’t see that act of opposition to such a simple gesture as problematic

Also, a very interesting (??) bit from the Delaware State News story on the Smyrna shooting vigil:

State Sen. Dave Lawson, R-Marydel, made the trip to Smyrna to offer his condolences to the families and support for the communities.
“I came here to support you,” Sen. Lawson said. “You are the backbone of this country. Right now you’re here in this city, but you make up the backbone of this country. Don’t let anyone tell you any different because we, the people, rule this country … not the bureaucrats, not those who came to be … you do.
“It is time that we start standing up as people and act like the bosses that we are. We have been overcome by evil. We’ve got to stop that. It is time that we quite knuckling under and letting the devil have his way with us. That’s what’s happening today. We run around frightened. There is nothing to hide from when He (God) is with you.”

      wut.

Dave Lawson spent a lot of time in shooting ranges, so I attribute his lack of intelligence to lead poisoning. Why people would choose to elect a brain-damaged individual who should be living in a facility where he can’t hurt himself or others is for them to explain.
