Kamala Harris bought a nice thing for her kitchen with her own money – this is an outrage that the DC press cannot  condone.

Of all of the stupid arguments defending the filibuster, the idea that that the filibuster as it stands in 2021 is a Longstanding Tradition rather than the latest iteration of a constantly changing one is among the stupidest. And needless to say, if Mitch McConnell thought that eliminating the legislative filibuster was in the interests of the Republican Party it would already be gone.

All changes to rules and norms will involve some level of “hypocrisy.” Who gives a shit? A rule is good or it is bad, and the filibuster is a very, very, very bad rule. That’s all ye need to know.

Happy Hanukah (Chanukah)!

Kamala Harris has not to my knowledge shot anybody while in office, so she’s already ahead of at least two former vice presidents.

Happy Cyber Monday! A local Non Profit agency that works with the homeless, the addicted and folks with mental health issues, Brandywine Counseling has an auction running until 8PM with lots of great stuff. As an added bonus it features original art from the Creative Vision Factory artists collective and the individual artists will share in the proceeds, so if you are so inclined here is the link.

Thanks for the heads up, Joe. Auction ends tonight, and there are several bargains among the restaurant gift cards — $100 certificates going for half that price.

      • Joe Connor says:

Thanks for the plug. Most satisfying part of the auction is that a lot of Creative Vision Factory artists will have some cash for the holidays.
        Thanks all!

Put some money on Matt Nagy. He’ll be available in a month or so.

      • I doubt it. If Nagy is gonna do a college gig, it would likely be at the OC level at a major school.

He literally has no college coaching experience, meaning he’s done no recruiting.

I think he’s looking to rehab his rep, which wasn’t helped by crappy QB options in Chicago. I think he wants back in The League. Taking over the reins of a major college offense could be the way back. Or maybe slotting in as an NFL assistant somewhere.

Take this for what it’s worth: An opinion from someone with too much time on his hands.

          El Som,
With all that time on your hands, you’ve come up with solid analysis to somewhat dissuade me from my top-of-the-head speculation. But I bet the AD at least reaches out to Nagy in the vain hope that he could help restore some loyalty within a fanbase that’s withering almost as fast as GOP moderates.

          • Hey, I’m not sayin’ you’re wrong…

I figure UD will reach out, just doubt that it’s a move he’d want to make.

Plus, UD is w/o a coach now. Nagy is still (tenuously) employed. Tough to go too long w/o a head coach, especially with the early Signing Day coming up in about a week.

About time. The record suggests he must be bad at recruiting as well as coaching. The program itself seems robust enough to draw good players at the Division 1-AA level but the record tells the tale. Hen fans are not going to turn out if they can’t even beat the Stony Brooks of the world. This new AD better pick it up. But this is a start and at least she’s not the one who fired K.C. Keeler.
