The whole “leave it up to the states” was pure bullshit from the get go.
SEN. GRAHAM: “I look forward to the debate. I look forward to the vote. If we take back the house and the Senate I can assure you, we’ll have a vote on our bill. If the Democrats are in charge, I don’t know if we’ll ever have a vote on our bill.”
“The text of Graham’s bill just dropped. It bans abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy. His previous versions of the bill set the limit at 20 weeks. The bill has exemptions for cases of rape (including statutory rape), incest and when ‘necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman.’ That life exemption notes that it doesn’t apply to ‘psychological or emotional conditions.’ The rape exemption also requires the patient to prove they obtained medical treatment or counseling or reported it to law enforcement at least 48hrs before the abortion.”
This is a gift to the Democrats. Lindsey Graham wants a vote..sure. Schumer should definitely bring it up for a vote in the house. Republicans want a national abortion ban. Let’s vote on it.
Queen Elizabeth II is Still Dead
This guy lost. I guess posing with a military style machine gun doesn’t have the cache it once did.
Madinah and Eric rinse their opponents. (Jerry H is sad.)
Two young, progressive woman (Romer and Phillips) to replace Kowalko and Bentz.
Officer Mitchell ousted by activist DeShanna Neal.
Kerri will replace A Bennet.
While Becca and Shané look like they came up short, those incumbent got smacked around. Deb and Nnamdi (and every other establishment legislator) can rest assured those fights escalate every cycle.
You don’t need to be weatherman to see which way the wind blows, and so on.
Well put. WFP candidates cleaned up. It is a movement not an election. Cotto was the only endorsee to fall a little short.
Also the “raising the profile of the office by doing crimes” strategy got a road test.
Happy Day after!
I stand on all my critiques of the York Campaign; the good news is that turnout was about 12% and York got 70% of that. So, we owe our thanks to the 8.5% more or less of the D electorate who did the right thing. The winning factor was that apparently the more voters knew KMG the less they liked her as evidenced by the rinsing she took in Pete’s District. Speaking of Pete his campaigning with Madinah’s opponent and the photographic proof will leave a further mark. No predictions but Pete is looking at a bumpy ride in January.
Looking at November there are 2 races of concern to me. Rae is facing Dave Thomas ex U.S. Marshall put in that gig by Joe Biden and Eric is facing an ex-NYPD cop who lives in the new below the Canal part of the district, john Marino. the money crowd will flood the zone on these,
Work to be done!
How many failed races has John Marino run at this point?
We just need one more:) He wants to lead the lengthy list of failed R candidates. I do think he will raise more money by a lot than ever before.
All of them is the correct answer.
I find it more than distressing that Pete would campaign with Madinah’s opponent given the troublesome comments she’s made… but not surprised. I would love to see him give the gavel to some new leadership… the only problem I foresee is republicans coming to Pete’s rescue because the Speaker is voted on by the whole house, not just the caucus. The GOP would surely vote for Pete before allowing a progressive speaker. Hope I’m wrong
JEE-zus, it doesn’t work that way.
Whoever would be speaker will have to reach accommodations with enough people in the D Caucus to secure the votes.
Pete will not even be in the equation any more. He torched any remaining goodwill he had with the Caucus when he unilaterally declared they wouldn’t be brought back into session. Forget about Pete.
In the vote for Speaker, the D’s put up a candidate, and the R’s put up a candidate, who will not be Pete, but who will be an R.
D’s won’t even put the vote on the floor until they’ve reached consensus. Plenty of goodies to give out to make that happen: leadership positions, committee assignments, committee chairs.
What’s different this time is that what’s left of the Kop Kabal doesn’t have the power to just put in their minions and screw progressives.
Well I appreciate you explaining that!
“The GOP would surely vote for Pete before allowing a progressive speaker. ”
You may be right, but voting for a D Speaker would surely draw an R primary opponent in the next cycle.
Jesus Christ, i had no idea Gavin was running for office in DE. He’d be great! He’d paint your chair and only ask for an onion!
I’m having a hard time deciding which is more pathetic — people mourning the queen, or people pissing on the people who are mourning the queen.
Even worse, the people mourning the people who are pissing on the people who are mourning the queen.
