REAL Pharmacist Wins REAL Pharmacy Award

Filed in National by on October 3, 2022

For lifetime achievement, no less.

Even this recognition barely touches on her accomplishments, which include training scores of pharmacists and technicians in the proper immunization of patients, and doing flu clinics at some of her favorite places, including DelVets, Claymont Community Center, and the Mary Campbell Center.  She is the ‘people person’ I never could be, and I could not be more proud of her:

Jackie, congratulations on a well deserved honor. You represent the best of pharmacy. I was privileged to work with you for many years and I am proud that you continue to serve the people of Brandywine Hundred. Wishing you much continued success.

    • Thanks, Alan! For those of you who don’t know, Alan would rent out the JCC for an afternoon every year, close the stores, and have employees and families out for a huge event with rides, kids’ games, waterslides, free food and drink, and recognition awards. Our kids loved it at least as much as we did.

Happy Harry’s really was a fun place to work back then, and it was due to the philosophy of the man running the show.

      • Alan Levin says:

El Som, thanks for those kind remarks. I was blessed to work with 100’s of caring people, like Jackie, who made it all possible. Please give her a big thank you from me. Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy New Year.

  14. Jacqueline Tanzer says:

Thank you all for your kind words. It has been my privilege to work for the people of my community all these years. I believe a community pharmacist is a true asset for our friends and neighbors; we look on caring for you as we would our own families. We fight for you behind the scenes, fighting for prior authorizations with your insurances, working with your providers to give you the best pharmaceutical care we can, counseling you on side effects and the importance of compliance. I loved working for Happy Harry’s, a Delaware company in Delaware. Alan was a true inspiration. He maintained a personal connection with each and every employee that I continue to emulate. I felt fortunate to be asked to be the pharmacy manager at Branmar, the flagship store. I still look on my store as a flagship. When I have a team member leave for another opportunity I always tell them to take a little bit of Branmar out into the world, a little bit of me.
