Old problems are never solved here, the ultimate example being the civil war. We’re at a cusp, the old civilities in the government are long gone, even in the senate. As per the precious guns (The ones we keep to “fight the gubmint!”) it is far worse due to the ubiquitous AR15, currently the record holder with 80% of all mass shootings. What do I expect? The same stupidity as in the last 40 years, we have learned nothing and remain two or more countries that pretend to be but one.

This morning the media is full of stories of what admirable people the Nashville victims were. And I do believe that’s true, in a small-town America kind of way.

But always, especially when it comes to the school principal, I remember the school’s denomination (as near as I can tell) is committed to teaching children that LGBTQ behavior is a sin to be avoided and repented. Not so admirable, and perhaps the seeds of the tragedy.

Interesting to me is that so much coverage deals with how brave and tactically savvy the police were. Huzzah! The killer didn’t kill as many as they may have killed. Like that is some kind of accomplishment.

Gay people have always been with us, it is a natural thing and was not feared in “the old days”. No one was gay, no one was all that “straight”. I love history and have since childhood, noticed 40 years ago or so that the truth was slowly coming out, after marriage equality so were the gays and lesbians. And it’s much for the better in mine eyes. This is another failed battle in the culture wars, so is DeSantis in Florida, few really want to go back to the way it was.
