Did the climate change asteroid finally hit this summer?

Filed in National by on July 25, 2023

It seems like climate change has suddenly become a thing. I mean it has been a thing for a while now, but a thing this country could all easily laugh off or ignore. It was sneaking up on us.

78 degrees and sunny in November? Yes, please!

Now it is here and that’s good, right? The dunderheads will still try to ignore it or blame it all on Mexicans and libtards, I suppose. But there should be a large enough majority of non-dunderheads to contend with the deniers and racketeers, right?

I just noticed a lot of question marks in this post. I’m not the cocksure declarative blogger I once was.

    From Escahton:

“Where are we in the global warming discourse cycle: it isn’t real, it isn’t man made, it isn’t worth doing anything, it is too late to do anything.

Maybe the ultimate example of the tragic consequences of Both Sidesing with paid liars and scientists, while generally privileging the paid liars because they have better PR budgets.”

I’ll be gone by the time the real shit hits the fan, but can still hear the whining, crying and pathetic prayers to the deities of choice that will ensue. Greed drives all things in America, survival of the species or not. Many warnings have been given, all will find contempt from the tiny minds. Have fun, I’ll be rockin’ on in hell with the metal bands, and as in life screaming like a demon.

I wonder what is going to happen to all of the energy that is being stored in the 101 degree Atlantic Ocean?

    • Alby says:

That story is bullshit. Small areas of surface water, particularly in shallow pools, can get that hot, but that’s not the “ocean temperature” of any significant ocean water mass.

Of course, ever-increasing ocean temperatures are a huge problem, but hyping this anomaly for clickbait shows that the media would rather treat climate change the same way it treats everything else: by sensationalizing it.

Alby, you’re gonna get in hot water for that.
