How do we legally commit treason?

That seems to be the question Trump’s “crackpot” lawyers were groping for in the days leading up to Jan 6th.

Unlike the founding fathers who were all in on the idea that losing meant losing literally everything – Trump and his lawyers wanted a more gentile treason that could be enforced by use of the Insurrection Act of 1807, and  ratified by the rogue Supreme Court that had been recently installed.

‘Gentile treason’. That phrase is a great jumping-off point for a creative writing project…

Which reminds me. Yes, we’re Jewish. My sister is a professor of religion specializing in New Testament. Got her doctorate at Harvard, spent a year at Oxford. When she had graduated and was interviewing with numerous colleges, she was asked perhaps the inevitable question, I think it was at Marquette, which is a Catholic school. I’m paraphrasing here:

“Why would a Jewess like you want to teach New Testament at a Catholic school?”

Knowing she had no shot at the job, she responded:

“Would it help if I told you that some of my best friends are Gentiles?”

No, it wouldn’t. No, it didn’t.
