Top 10 Things Trump Might Have Done Differently

Filed in National by on August 28, 2023

Our political memories are short, but you may recall that the Biden DOJ was desperate for Trump to just shut his fat mouth and go away quietly.  They never would have prosecuted him if he acted even a little but normal.  But Trump being Trump, that wasn’t in the cards.

In addition to simply shutting his fat mouth and quietly going away,  there is a long list of things Trump could have done to avoid all his legal troubles.  This is by no means an exhaustive list:

Trump could have…

  1. …left secret documents in the White House when he lost the election and stopped being President.
  2. …returned the secret documents when he was asked for them.
  3. …not shared secret documents with people at Bedminster golf club
  4. …not told his staff to obstruct justice.
  5. …not endorsed a “fake electors plan”
  6. …not fired up supporters to attack the Capitol.
  7. …not told Mike Pence to commit crimes.
  8. …not called Brad Raffensperger and try to get him to commit crimes.
  9. …paid taxes on his hush money disbursements (or)
  10. …paid Stormy Daniels with cash.

This is perhaps the most galling part of the Republican claim that these charges are politically motivated. Trump did the crimes. Then more crime. Then he kept talking about all of the crimes.

The unprecedented prosecution is totally based on the unprecedented number of crimes.

The Republicans have been relying on the barrage of bull shit technique for a decade or two now, as noted Trump could have pretended to be vaguely normal and the nation could have skipped this stupidity. Being forward looking though this was necessary, if for no other reason then to destroy the president as king mentality many cowards in Washington seem to have. One law for all (Sounds good, does it not?) and enforce the rule of law, it’s do it now and be done or see it return.
