Song of the Day 9/30: “Flipper” Theme

Former Republican poll watcher Scott Hall pled guilty to five criminal counts and must testify against co-defendants, notably former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, his contact in the plot. He’s the first of 19 defendants in the case to flip. I’m guessing he won’t be the last.

For those too young to remember it, “Flipper” was an NBC TV series, based on a Chuck Connors movie, that ran for three seasons, from 1964 to 1967, about a bottlenose dolphin. It was basically an underwater version of “Lassie.” Plots usually involved Flipper rescuing the sons of the park warden of the marine preserve where he lived, or helping catch criminals and thugs in the park. Unlike Lassie, who was never played by a female dog, Flipper was supposed to be male but was only portrayed by female dolphins, because males are too scarred from fighting with each other.
