Comment Rescue: The Case for BHL

Found this in the trash folder. From “Deeds,” whose comment ended up there because he or she used more than one screen name. I have consistently asked for someone to make the case for why BHL should be governor. This weak sauce is what the answer is:

“Let me answer Alby aka the fat guy with a wfp t shirt who never got where he wanted in life so he’s angry…or that’s how I imagine it.”

You have a lousy imagination. I lost the weight years ago, I live in Paris and I have never belonged to or supported the Working Families Party. Try again, loser.

“BHL has been LTG for the last 8 years. She’s familiar with how to e executor branch of government works.”

Lieutenant governor is a part-time job and has no actual connection with the governorship. She has no better idea of how the executive branch works than any other observer. Besides, she’s served beneath one of the weakest governors this state has ever had.

“Prior to being elected LTG over many in a jungle type primary she was a state senator for many years so she understands how the legislative body works.”

Yes, we can see that. It works as a self-enrichment scheme.

“She’s a nurse with a real life story who actually lived somewhere else than this 2 hour area we call Delaware. I find that an asset.”

I don’t. Every person who’s ever held a job in Delaware or lived in another state meets these qualifications. Next.

“She was a military wife and be familiar with how to be the commander in chief for the Delaware guard.”

I consider military service a minus, not a plus. And we can all judge what a quality spouse she has.

“She doesn’t live in Wilmington (and actually knows the rest of the state!)”

Fewer than 70,000 people live in Wilmington.

“She’s a nurse and been a professor for many young women trying to become a nurse.”

So what? Not a qualification for governor.

“She took a specialized role in to trying to stop the opioid crisis in this state.”

So what? I don’t consider stopping people from poisoning themselves the government’s job.

“She’s not some rich Dooshbag lawyer who spent 100k to of his own money to become county executive and then cut sleazy deals with developed the last 8 years.”

What, Dana couldn’t scrape up that much with his Section 8 housing?

“What I miss”

Just about everything. All this adds up to is “I don’t like Matt Meyer but I’ve hitched my star to this talentless woman with the jerkoff husband.” This was my point. She has done nothing to deserve this job, and shown plenty of reasons why she shouldn’t have it.

Happy now, asshole?
