Song of the Day 2/5: Killer Mike, “Scientists and Engineers”
There’s no bad publicity, but maybe there’s such a thing as being too on-brand. Atlanta rapper and activist Killer Mike won three Grammy Awards and got arrested after the ceremony, apparently for shoving a security guard who didn’t get out of his way. This is the song that won him two of the awards, for best rap song and best rap performance. The third was for the album it was released on, “Michael,” his first solo album in 10 years.
He’s also one-half of the hip-hop duo Run the Jewels. I don’t listen to that genre much but I find them really good.
