‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: January 2026
A new year, same old rules. The songs are presented in alpha order by artist. Uh, that’s the only rule, other than these are songs that I like. BTW, quality over quantity this month:
My micro-dose song of the month (Memo to self: Find out how to micro-dose):
Already over 65 million views…

I really like the combination of pretty and slightly off-center in the song by Euphoria Again & Dogwood Tales, a band I’d never heard of. I love the Bruno Mars throwback songs. I like the Dry Cleaning song but not the three minutes of watching the guy do calisthenics. The Mon Rovia song is very pleasant. Re: Noah Kahan – I like the music a lot but guess I’m not in the mood this morning for such earnestness in the lyrics. (Fortunately I’m pretty good at blocking out lyrics I don’t want to hear.) The Joyce Manor song really got my blood flowing. Nice selection. Look forward to this feature every month.
Pretty sure that Euphoria Again and Dogwood Tales are two different bands who got together to record.
As to the calisthenics, pretty much all the videos I’ve seen for the new album have similar videos. I’m with you on that one…
Last January was full of new music. This year, for some reason, not so much…
This might be the only time it ever happens, but your list has the current top two songs by iTunes downloads – “I Just Might” supplanted “Streets of Minneapolis” at No. 1.
Didn’t know I had so much influence on the marketplace…
You’re in tune with the zeitgeist.
First time for everything.
I felt a jaded “oh dear, here we go” rising in my head when I heard Bruce was putting out a song. But that cynicism melted away when I heard it. Not only is it in the best Woody Guthrie tradition, but it’s an urgent reminder to everyone to puck up thei tools ( be they guitars or whatever) and get to work.
I agree. Didn’t have Springsteen making a best tunes list this year as being likely.
