‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: April 2026

Quite a few bands and artists you haven’t heard of, but likely should, this month.  Which ones catch your ear?

This song activated whatever psychedelics remain in my system from the ’70’s and early ’80’s.  Making it the inevitable choice for the ‘Micro-Dose Song Of The Month’.  Ladeez and Gentlemen, The Clog:

I’m calling it–Nathan Arizona’s Fave Of The Month.  He does not dare to contradict me:

Why is this my fave James Hunter song from his new album?  Because it sounds like something Curtis Mayfield might have written for Major Lance:

Don’t think there was a guaranteed Top 10 end-of-year pick this month.

I probably liked Kalela the most, with Friko and James Hunter in the mix. But, of course, I liked all of ’em. That’s why I shared them with everybody.

Good ear, Symphony…should have seen it coming. James Hunter has definitely checked out Major Lance. One down on your Mt. Rushmore of singers…the other three?

My musical Mt. Rushmore consists of (in alphabetical order):

Curtis Mayfield (by sheer coincidence, XPN was playing his ‘We’re A Winner’ as I made my way to the WFP endorsement announcement. I viewed it as a lucky omen.)

    Joni Mitchell

    Thelonious Monk

    Stephen Sondheim.

Tom Waits on stand-by should anybody turn down the honor.
