‘Can you post a list of incumbent Democratic losers on DL and a sentence about why they suck? I’m so far out of it I can’t enjoy this as much as I think I should be enjoying it.’
Why, I’d be delighted. Although I will likely write more than a sentence about each one.
Sen. Ray Seigfried, who got crushed by 800 votes in his loss to Shay Frisby. Took advantage of an anti-democratic process to get the nomination over Shay Frisby when Kyle Evans Gay was elected Lt. Governor. His first official act once he was sworn in was to sign on to the ‘Billionaires’ Bill’ as a co-sponsor, then got over $100K in social media and mailers from Musk’s corporate attorneys. As a retired corporate ChristianaCare executive, he weakened SB 1 by giving his ex-employer jawboning power over any proposed limitations on rate hikes, then ran as a ‘champion’ of healthcare reform. A true weasel.
Rep. Stephanie Bolden. Opposed renters’ protections, supported usurious interest rates by same-day lenders, positions that hurt her constituents. Three successive Speakers placed her on powerful money committees because they could count on her to do exactly what they wanted. (You see, when you’re on one of those committees, you get paid significantly more than the normal legislator.) Became a Buccini/Pollin favorite, even though she wasted more campaign $$’s on Walt’s Crispy Chicken than on, you know, campaigning stuff. She was a waste of space in Dover for a long time.
Rep. Josue Ortega. Only reason he was in the General Assembly was because Bud Freel got Branden Fletcher-Dominguez disqualified. His only noteworthy accomplishment was to be accused of domestic violence.
Deb Heffernan/Ed Mulvihill. Heffernan reveled in being a political insider, and doled out shitloads of money to the Riverfront Development Corporation while serving as head of the Bond Bill Committee and, yes, as a member of the board of the Riverfront Development Corporation. An ex-duPont scientist, she received a national award from the Chemical Industry Council for her work in weakening, and slow-walking, environmental protection legislation. She hand-picked Ed Mulvihill as her successor, presumably because that would ensure the continued flow of alcohol from his lobbying gig (he lobbied for the liquor stores) to Leg Hall. No, that’s a cheap shot. She chose him because she knew, as did the Musk-rats who pissed money down the drain on his campaign, that they could count on him to fight for the Forces of Ee-vil the same way Heffernan had.
Franklin Cooke. Partnered with then-Speaker and ex-state cop Pete Schwartzkopf to kill LEOBOR reform. It was deliberate, and took place in the wake of George Floyd’s murder by the cops. Oh, did I mention that Cooke is an ex-cop? He was one of the most noxious members of the General Assembly. I’m especially thrilled to see him gone.
Lumpy Carson. He may, or may not, have been smarter than the gerbil he resembles. He was, however, Delaware’s Dumbest Legislator. Which made him the ‘perfect idiot’ to be placed on powerful money committees by House leadership, not to mention to be named chair of the House Transportation Committee. Singularly unqualified for any of these posts, which is precisely why he got those positions–so that the Delaware Way insiders could run roughshod over the process. Oh, did I mention he was a racist who was very proud of his ‘pickaninny’ collection?

Boulden biennially sponsored a hideous bill to move the primary to spring. The Senate properly iced it, but it was a close call in 2021. One hopes that the new House will not let this ritual continue.

Not many challengers would have won if they had had to campaign during the winter months of short days and cold weather. That bill has always been an incumbency-protection bill.
Bolden was a school teacher but never ever tried to get schools in Wilmington. She was a very, very selfish person. A trusted guard of THE POWER STRUCTURE. A DOUBLE DIPPER OF THE WORST KIND. SHE EVEN HATED the Homeless.
Cooke’s conquer Pamela, she made him sweat. He couldn’t lose all that fat he built up doing nothing for his constituents and carrying water for the power structure. He deserved that whipping Pamela put on that fat greasy ass. Another selfish one bites the dust. The state of Delaware can do without him.
You might have tried appealing to your constituents – y’know, the traditional way for candidates to win election. Instead you just want to disqualify someone who does it better than you. Says reams about you.

As someone who lives in RD 3 and read this comment, I reached out to Branden, and he verified both his current and former residences, which meet the durational residency requirement. You, Mr. Ortega are full of Sh**.
You are nowhere near as competent, committed, and dedicated to solving our community’s issues as Branden is, and that’s why the voters OVERWHELMINGLY chose him over you. And like it has been said many, many times: it was never your seat to begin with and you would have gotten your ass handed to you in 2024, just like you did on Primary night.
Not to mention, he may or may not be a victim, but, based on his post, he sure has anger management issues.
Your comments towards Branden are very elitist. Who cares if he lives with his family? Many people have to in this economy. And so what if he ends up taking the bus to Dover? It’s a perfectly respectable way to commute. What about your constituents who take the bus to work every day? Is this how you feel about them? This attitude alone should dissuade anyone from voting for you ever again.
I live in the 3rd RD and am a very reliable primary voter. No one from your campaign contacted me even once. As a district resident, it’s clear that the only group you were working for was the Roberto Clemente LL. Which is great. I’m truly glad those kids have someone in their corner. But you could at least pretend to be able to multi-task.
I could also bring up the groups you promised to provide some community funding for then ignored when they tried to reconnect, but I don’t want to give myself away.
