Trump’s Love of Putin Knows No Bounds

The Republican President attacked Syria last night, but not until he gave a heads-up to his boss, Putin.

U.S. officials said the Russians, who maintain significant forces in Syria, were given advance warning of the strike. There is a Russian military area at the base that was hit, but the U.S. took precautions not to strike that area, according to Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman.

They were trying to minimize any Russians accidentally getting killed hanging around there. If you would prefer young Russian boys getting killed there, then you have a problem. The goal was to degrade Syrian capabilities , not intentionally killing soldiers.

The goal was to show Dump is a big, tough man.
He didnt give a flying fuck about those kids he is apparently avenging when he refused to help them flee Assad. This is an attempt to raise his poll numbers. The guy feels no compassion or empathy, he is only driven by his own ego and this spontaneous use of bombs shows that he is starting to buckle under the pressure of his own failure. I guess the question now is whether or not he drags us into a war with China or Russia before he is “gonged” off.

If you think the goal was “to degrade Syrian capabilities”, then you have problem.

Ben gets it right, this is a diversion to bolster Trump’s polling numbers and take attention off the Russians and the failure to replace Obamacare in the house.

Who cares what Hillary thinks? You conservative asshats, apparently.

The think she is the deep state president.

How about this, the world approved except Iran, Syria, Russia, DE Liberal and Hollywood.

@State: Define “the world.” Unless I’m mistaken, you are talking about governments of countries that are aligned with the governments of certain other countries. Otherwise, you have no way of knowing what “the world” thinks of this or anything else.

If you have something intelligent to add, you should start demonstrating it.

the reactionary, poorly thought-out and child-killing strike isnt the issue, ass hat. It is Dumps’ supposed compassion for dead children he blocked from entering the country.

@Stat: I read your comment before I looked at the rest of the internet. It seems that many Trump supporters also had strong negative reactions to the Syria strike.

You don’t seem to get it. Each party has split into warring camps, and one camp in each party is anti-war and anti-corporate, or insiders vs. outsiders if you prefer to view it that way.

My tentative take is that this reflects Bannon’s demotion and Kushner’s enhanced influence.

Yours apparently is “America, fuck yeah!”

Delaware Liberal’s concern for those who lost their lives from the Syrian chemical attack is overwhelming!

As is your concern over those who died today in car accidents, from gunshot wounds, from disease — but hey, you offered your “thoughts and prayers” to those Syrians instead. That and a dollar will get them a cup of coffee in heaven.

You don’t know the first thing about Syria, Rusty, and your “concern” for the victims didn’t extend to allowing them into the country when they were looking for a safe haven. That high horse of yours has come up lame.

Alby, you are a bad communicator, your response is confusing and mostly unrelated to my comment. I say that mountain is tall, and you respond that I don’t care about ducks.

Trump is getting duped by the neocon alliance. Now we are about to ride the Lyndsey Graham, John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Dick Cheney, et al, war monger special….I guess the price of oil was just too low for their liking.

Tomahawk cruise missiles cannot do any lasting damage to a runway. They CAN destroy planes on the ground, but the missile strike doesn’t appear to have been intended to damage Syrian assets in any way, because that would have been overt act of war against Syria and possibly against Russia (if Russian troops or assets were present).

I’m not pleased that Trump did this, and the “think of the children” line is obvious horseshit (similar images have been coming out of this war for 7 years but THIS is the one that gets to him?). But given that he DID do it, the fact that he took steps to avoid war with Russia seems oddly… prudent. That isn’t something I would criticize him for.
