Mike Castle’s Buddy David Brennan to cut 7,000 AstraZeneca jobs

How times change.

Today we have sad faces.

Back in January of 2006 we were all smiles.

Amazing! You have a Castle angle and Dave has a Carper/Minner angle.

Your connection, though, was about that happy-feel-good Rx program. Dave’s connection was about that happy-feel-good-corporate-welfare program that, in my opinion, is simply a harbinger to B of A in a few years.

(snark) Y’know, when I saw the Delaware Smash was back at the DuPont CC, I sensed trouble for Astra Zeneca.

    Nice catch, smitty, Well played……

Can we have our tax breaks back now? You know, the ones we gave to Astra Zeneca to “protect Delaware jobs?”

    No.

Can we have our road money back now? You know, the money that was supposed to buy road easements in Sussex County but was shipped instead to 202 & 141 for AstraZeneca to “bring in Delaware jobs?”

    Thanks Tom Carper!

I like that the other link directs you to this Mike Castle quote, “Madame Speaker, it is with great sadness that I rise today to remember the brave and heroic life of Barbaro.”

    Well played.

Well isn’t this interesting. Seems everyone’s favorite dark horse candidate for Governor, Jack Markell, is not above sucking at the corporate teat when it serves his needs.

Just check out his campaign finance report for 2006 (or 2005). You will see the name of one Glenn Engelmann, the VP for Policy, Legal and Scientific affairs at AstraZeneca. In other words, he’s the dude with the cash for the “electeds” in DE.

He donated over $1,000 to Markell in the last cycle — that’s almost the max.

I wonder if we’ll hear from Markell on this front — as to how they are “thugs” up there at ‘ol AZ…?

I wonder if he’ll give the money back…?

I wouldn’t hold my breath on either!
