I take some satisfaction in the fact that Coons is the least popular of the very popular statewide Democrats.
“taking live testimony from Trump” sounds like a painful biopsy. I’m for it.
I hate Coons, you hate Coons, all god’s chillin’ hate Coons. And yet he’s in no danger of defeat. Post election in November I’m anticipating another foray into “bipartisanship” from our oblivious little friend. Got to admit it takes a special king of stupid to seek “common ground” with the people out to end democracy and install Fascism in it’s place. Having said that I can see Coons as the court jester of a Fascists regime.
By chance I just had a fairly lengthy conversation about this very topic with Coons himself in a Middletown bagel shop.
He is unmovable and utterly convinced that the only way to get the 20 or so bills they passed this year is by including and befriending Republicans. But he did allow that the GOP is an existential threat to the Republic. He said he is working hard to defeat Republicans in PA, NV and elsewhere. He also admitted that Lindsey Graham has no moral compass.
In parting I said that when reaching across the aisle, reach out to the left once in a while. He said, “I do.”
