Trump has kicked himself in his ample ass yet again. After he banned CNN, Politico and MS NOW from the White House, ABC, NBC, CBS and even Fox News announced they would no longer provide pool coverage of the world’s thirstiest media whore.
So when Dumpy held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a helipad on the White House roof yesterday, nobody had set up the equipment the pool normally provides, for example, a boom microphone. Trump-fluffing Newsmax had video of the event, but without microphones his mouth noises couldn’t be heard over the thrum of a helicopter engine.
News agencies should have realized long ago that the most harm they could do to a lying president with diarrhea of the mouth would be to ignore him. It might not improve his petulant temper tantrums, but would spare us from the firehose of lies. Report what he does, not what he says, and ribbon-cutting ceremonies don’t count.
No news coverage would be bad news for Trump, but Tony Joe White thought it was good news. White, a Louisiana native known as the Swamp Fox, had more success as a songwriter than a performer. He wrote “Rainy Night in Georgia,” a hit for Brook Benton and covered by dozens of artists, and “Polk Salad Annie,” his only Top 40 hit (No. 8) but made famous by Elvis Presley’s live performances. “No News is Good News” appeared on his 1973 LP “Homemade Ice Cream.”
