26%!

Well, W has hit the 26% approval rating level.  This is his lowest rating ever and represents a 2 point drop from the last poll.  Only Truman and Nixon have ever recorded lower numbers.  How does he do it?!?!

Only 12% above your Democratic Congress…

If Republicans want to make the next election about who sucks more – Bush or Congress – I’m good with that.

  3. jason330 says:

And when I say Bush, I mean Bush and those, like Flipp, who would follow his stay the course philosophy.

  4. Dorian Gray says:

FSP – Nice deflection. You are correct in your assertion that Congress’ poll numbers are indeed poor. Why is that, do you think?

Perhaps those who elected the Democratic Congress want those gutless dolts to hold that shit-for-brains president’s feet to the fire rather than continuing to roll over.

Only Bush will be gone, and the failed Congress will be up for re-election. I’m good with that.

Bush’s policies have been adopted wholesale by Romney. I know that keeps you up at night, but you can feign coolness around here. We don’t mind.

  7. liberalgeek says:

Well a huge, but still minority, percentage of Congress is also Republican. I guess that could explain the low approval numbers.

  8. Von Cracker says:

Congress last year was at 19%.

Anyway – FSP’s reasoning and comparison between Bush and the 535 members of Congress is a little more than faulty.

Bush is singular, one person. If 74% of the country disapproves…well, you get the idea. To group together 535 congressmen, which are just about evenly split by party, and say that it’s all on the Dems is disingenuous.

You can say only 12% approve of what Congress is doing, but when asked about their own congressman, the approval ratings increase significantly.

  9. Ryan S. says:

This is a symptom larger disenfranchisement with the entire political class –and the media. Bush and Congress are just one part of it.

Ryan, don’t let WH see that you are promoting your blog here. He’ll call you names…

The way I see it, if I’m going to be part of this peanut gallery, the least I can do is shamelessly promote my own end of it. 😉
