The surge is working the surge is working!!!! Wait nevermind, lets wait until September to decide
AS Jason would say….Castle Voted for Bush and he voted against a timetable. I report the national stuff people, but the local guys are part of the problem. Mike Castle has had an amazing run in Delaware, he is kind of like a mini bush, nothing sticks to the guy, all this scandal going on in the GOP yet Castle is getting a pass in this state. I can see why it bugs the ever living shit out of Jason quite frankly.
There is no reason why cAstle shouldn’t be held accountable. It is disgraceful that soldiers are now serving 15 months in iraq. Stop and think readers. Seriously, I want you to take 10 seconds right now to think about what 15 months in Iraq is like on a soldier. sure you can say he signed up for it, but he didn’t sign up for a three 15 month tours in Iraq.
Now give me 10 seconds to think about what no timetable, no end in sight means to our military, to guys that have to go out in a humvee into the streets of baghdad with no mission, no plan, no gaurantee that what they are doing serves a purpose.

Mike Castle is looking for new ways to help Bush keep troops in Iraq forever. An AP story quotes Castle:
They would need GOP votes to pass a new war funding measure once Bush executed his veto, Democrats told the Republicans, and they wanted to start assembling a bipartisan group that could write one.
“There’s been talking behind the scenes about how to do this, because they know if they make substantial changes to the bill they will lose a series of Democrats,” said Rep. Michael Castle (news, bio, voting record), R-Del, a leading moderate. “They understand that they’re going to need a solution that goes beyond their own membership and there are a number of Republicans who want to get this behind them, too.”
Yes…the Republicans running for re-election ESPECIALLY want to get this behind them.
In another article, Castle says “…the final decision on when to leave Iraq must be left up to military commanders.”
Carper goes all wobbly here too. In the same article Carper says “now is the time for negotiations” with Bush (who has already said he is not going to negotiate). Carper’s “negotiation” is code for some kind of non-binding benchmarks for Iraqis, while continuing to shovel blood and money into the pit with no strings attached.
