Research Trip to Kauai

I just got an incredible deal on tickets to Kauai for the summer, so I plan to do some research on Dave Burris’ assertion that we should all take up shovels against paying for roadwork.

The story goes like this:

There was a flood that washed out a bridge to the Polihale State park in Kauai, HI.  The state of Hawaii got estimates of time and money to repair the roads, facilities and a bridge over a (now dry) creek bed.  The estimates were huge ($4M) and would take a long time.  So some intrepid locals, who happen to make their living taking tourists to the park, got together and fixed one element of the damage, the bridge.

So my plan is to spend some of the small fortune that has been donated to DelawareLiberal by ACORN, Moveon, and organized labor (that there is a joke, btw) to take a look at this project and get people’s opinion on the way it went down.  We are here for you, dear reader.
