Can Someone tell me

Why Halloween HAS to be on the 31st? wouldn’t it make freaking sense to have it on the last Saturday of the month?

I mean Christ, we have other holidays that aren’t chained to a specific date.

As your new Congressman I pledge to put Halloween on the last Saturday of the month!

You got my vote! A gov. could probably ‘do’ something about changing the date; afteral, it is a religious festival.

Oh great. A Congressional candidate running on the ‘hotness’ ticket. I don’t care how good looking you are; there’s no way you have hair as great as Edwards.

All seriousness aside, All Hallows’ Eve is the day before All Hallows Day (aka All Saints’ Day) which is November 1st.

It has to be the day before All Saints Day, just as Christmas Eve has to be the day before Christmas Day.

Having suffered through three kids with Hallowe’en on every day of the week, I don’t see what the problem is with Hallowe’en on, say Wednesday.

I’ve had to work through 3 of the last four Halloweens. Considering that it’s the worthiest holiday, in my opinion, I would not mind if Halloween divorced itself from the that Christian pap.

Is it Halloween already? Damn, I better start gearing up for the War On Christmas.

  6. Dana says:

Actually, a lot of towns schedule trick-or-treat night on a weekday when Hallowe’en falls on a weekend night, so that there will be fewer problems with drunk adults partying in the midst of all the little ghoulies and ghosties and long-legged beasties out on the sidewalks.
