Only in Delaware
Those damn Capanos. Gerry Capano, the monster who shot a hole into Anne Marie Fahey’s ice chest coffin so it would sink, had a little domestic dispute this past week. Who represented him at court as a public defender? Ferris Wharton. Who was his judge? Jane Brady.
Seriously, there is an argument to be made that Delaware’s legal system is inherently unfair given the musical chair but same people involved nature of it. But what are you going to do? It’s Delaware.

Mike Castle was a character witness?
I have 4 tickets to today’s Baltimore Orioles game (1:35 pm) that I can’t use. If anyone in the DL community is spending this lovely day in Balitmore’s inner harbor and would like them let me know.
For shame at linking the name of Castle with that of Capano! How close was the former governor to the killer? Remember that it was Carper’s Appointments Secretary that was murdered.
Uh, Art? Capano was counsel to Governor Castle. And Louis Capano donates regularly to Castle’s campaigns.
“… his judge …”?
Perhaps, for the sake of accuracy, Ms. Brady was ‘the’ judge. Nice (subtle) attempt at a slant, though. Unlike our current Attorney General, at least Wharton is actually practicing law.
Jason,
Generous offer. My daughter’s fiancée is on his way home from the game. Apparently he’s barfing his brains out. He thinks it may have been a bad hot dog he had in the first inning.
Actually, I meant no attempt to imply that Capano “owned” Brady by saying she was “his judge.” I meant only to say that Brady was his judge at the hearing, or the judge at the hearing. This post is about how small our legal community is, not anything else.
Thanks for the context.

I am sure the JAG Corps will be amused at your claim that they are not practicing law.
Not to mention, if you are the AG you are by definition practicing law.
By the way – anyone ever figure out who was Wharton’s passenger he dropped off before ‘fessing up to his hit and run?
“if you are the AG you are by definition practicing law.”
I’m sure he’ll get it right someday.
Perhaps I should have considered where I was posting, and further qualified my remark for the intellectually and ideologically impaired.
Biden Jr., due to his National Guard commitments/service to this country, obviously hasn’t been working as the Delaware Attorney General. Although, it may be a nice resumé builder for his next political step, his duties as JAG wasn’t remotely relevant to his responsibilities as AG in Delaware.
Now, wipe the drool off your trembling lip, and do carry on.

Interesting how when a Democrat serves the military, he gets roundly criticized by the right.

I think it may have been the team that finished 64-98, that hasn’t sniffed success since that punk in NY reached over the wall to steal a win for the Yankees. I love Baltimore and Camden Yards, but it’s hard to spend money to watch that franchise. Reminds me of the Phillies between 1987-2000, when Francona finally left (except for 1993, which was a fluke year).
Hope your future son-in-law is feeling better.
Remember that time that Ferris Wharton went out for a drive with a “friend” and had a hit and run? Good times, good times.
“Interesting how when a Democrat serves the military, he gets roundly criticized by the right.”
Certainly not for his service in the military. That’s commendable.
Pay attention.
Miscreat, you wrote, Although, it may be a nice resumé builder for his next political step,
That was criticism.
“That was criticism.”
Yes sir, it certainly was. Not of his military service, but his potential use of it. I’m willing to bet many of life’s subtleties go over your head, Mr. Nemski.
Wait a minute. I remember in 1992 Republicans attacking Clinton savagely for his lack of military service. And now it is forbidden for any Democrat to refer to his military service as something voters should consider.
Interesting set of rules you have Miscreant. Hypocrite, much?
“And now it is forbidden for any Democrat to refer to his military service …”
Of course not, but it should be acknowledged for what it is for this “Fortunate Son”.
“Hypocrite, much?”
Hardly at all. But I can only aspire to reach your level. If I recall, Liberals were squirting in their shorts over Bush’s military service in the Texas Air National Guard, and very carefully parsed (and, in at least one case, doctored) his records.
Works both ways.
Recommend that we no longer feed the troll.
Miscreant leaves out the Swift Boating of John Kerry.
I like the fact that Miscreant is upset about the “potential” of Beau’s campaigning on his military service.
But it all comes down to Beau being a Biden doesn’t it?
“Recommend that we no longer feed the troll.”
Not enough balls to engage, coward?
“But it all comes down to Beau being a Biden doesn’t it?”
Pretty much. That, and the fact that he’s not qualified for the job (not unlike our President). I see a disquieting parallel.
Actually, the Swift Boating is good example, too.
balls to beat a dead horse?
“But it all comes down to Beau being a Biden doesn’t it?”
Yes, that is a full description of his qualifications for office.
