Her candidacy made perfect sense when Levin was still in. Even though she will not beat Biden, she’d be sure to mobilize to vote the social conservative parts of the Republican base who might not be as excited by a more moderate business owner like Levin running for Governor.
In theory, once they were in the booth, her voters would have stuck around and voted for Levin as well.
There are compassionate fascists on the right and left, what you have to do is stop legislating social goods or vices, and discover what crime really is. Steve and I both bash the drug war becuase it came directly from the Third Reich, we also think social goods and individualty should be tolerated. There are other similar areas we write about. I have Barney Frank giving a wonderful exposition of individual liberty about gambling….on Delaware Libertarian. That is what we need more of. Individual liberty is a good thing when it is balanced with communal freedom. When you go too far to the left things get socialist, when you go too far to the right things get fascist. Jonah Goldberg, author of “liberal fascism” should have read his history more closely and realized the difference between right wing national socialism and left wing keynesian socialism and democracy….there is a difference between all three. The mechanics of the way our democracy is supposed to work, is found in Wikipedia under Jeffersonian Democracy, For the others look up Keynesianism and Military Keynesianism…
