A view from the 18th Special

Someone help me out. Specials are important, and Democrats typically suck at them.

I don’t know how to respond to the poll question on the right, should I pick “The Republicans” based on past performance?

I have been invited to a fundraiser for Eileen O’Shaughnessy-Coleman, and haven’t been invited to a fundraiser for David Bentz, but that doesn’t tell me anything. (I think I opted out of the DelDem mailing list because the drivel was depressing, but stayed on the DEGOP mailing list because Copeland’s drivel is hilarious.)

So what’s the scoop internet tubes? Work your crowdsourcing magic.

There will be fundraisers for Dave on August 14th at Cavalier Country Club hosted by the Young Democrats and on 8/27 Ciro Poppitti will be hosting a fundraiser at the United Distributors Hall. David has canvassing events planned every weekend and has had approximately 20 volunteers for each event so far and he is walking the neighborhoods every night. He has already hit well over 1000 doors and is getting a very positive response. Several legislators have been helping him including many of your progressive heroes, Brian Townsend, Paul Baumbach and Kim Williams.

Contrary to some of the popular opinion on here, David is doing a very nice job of connecting with voters, he has informed and thought out positions on issues and he is working hard for this, not taking it for granted. What else would you like to know?

    That’ll do.

I was out door knocking with Dave tonight. He had a lot of poise and connected with probable voters.

We are having a fundraiser for Dave on Thursday, August 27, at United Distributors, 411 Churchman’s Road, at 6 p.m. If you would like an invite, please email me at CCPoppiti@aol.com.

    AQC,

Does he support a parent’s right to opt out of unproven standardized tests… unlike the coward that preceded him, should he be elected?

P.S. try to answer the actual asked question rather that call me an asshole for asking it while offending your boss.

How about if I call you an asshole while telling you to ask Dave the question? Or, how about if I just call you an asshole because you are one?

Now, now Comrades. John Young , you think Eileen O’Shaughnessy-Coleman is going to be a friend of public education?

With a little Democratic leadership, at least there is a chance of winning over D reps. (At least ones not personally installed by Pete S)

    All good stuff, Thanks Nancy.

He agrees that all unearned income, including income from dividends, interest, capital gains and estates, must be taxed at the same rate as earned income, saying “this would be a positive step towards creating a fair and equitable tax structure.” And on a key issue bearing on the budget in the year ahead, David Bentz strongly agrees that Delaware needs new progressive tax rates for incomes above $60,000 (under current law, those making an adjusted gross income of $60,001 and $600,000 are paying the same top marginal tax rate) saying, “this is the root of making sure the wealthy pay their fair share. I in no way want to gouge those top earners, but the fact that the top bracket has been the same ($60,000) for more than 20 years is embarrassing. We need to create a tax system that is fair and equitable. This would be a step in the right direction.”
