Inaugural 2016 Polling Watch Map of the Election

The map is based upon current general election polling. Yes, Hillary is currently leading Trump in Utah, Mississippi, Arizona and Georgia. I would not expect that to continue in Utah and Mississippi. But Arizona and Georgia will be this year’s competitive battleground.

I know this map is much to Jason and Nemski’s chagrin, who both love to fellate Trump at every opportunity.
Dear Polls, please be right. Or at least more right than the polls that had Trump losing the nomination to Rubio.
You want it both ways. She’s a shoo-in, but shut up or she might lose. It’s an incoherent set of positions — Trumpian, even.
Jason, please provide a link to the poll that had Rubio ever leading Trump. It never happened. In fact, from the moment he announced, Trump lead all GOP national polls. Punditry and the press refused to believe it and kept pronouncing his demise, despite the polls. Now the reverse is true. You refuse to believe the polls that have consistently and for months shown that Hillary will destroy Trump, because you fear his appeal to racist whites.
anonymous beat me to it. To be fair – you need to settle on a position. “Hillary going to crush” or “Hillary hanging on by a thread, so don’t say anything mean” Which is it?
“Arizona and Georgia will be this year’s competitive battleground.”
Who gives a shit? Can you tell me, without looking it up, who the Carper Democrats or the progressive Democrats are in either state? As long as she reaches 270, what difference does it make if she carries this state or that one? Unless you’re rooting, of course, which is what politics seems to be about for you.
Do us all a favor and take up sports fandom. That’s more suited for your approach.
At least Kos has his boot-licking “career” to think of, which explains but doesn’t excuse his case.
“But Arizona and Georgia will be this year’s competitive battleground.”
I have thought that about Georgia as well, but what’s your rationale for declaring Arizona a battleground?
I haven’t really look at state-wide polls, but I’m a little surprised that Florida is considered blue. I mean those are old people most of whom want to keep government hands off their Medicare.
Isn’t this a little close to call Florida a lock? http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/fl/florida_trump_vs_clinton-5635.html
“Hillary is hanging on by a thread so shush” is not my position. Hillary is going to crush it is not my position
My position is Hillary is the nominee and it is time to fight Trump. My position is The Primary is over so you sore loser Bernouts need to move on with your lives.
Sorry, sports fan. Moving on with our lives means keeping an eye on the latest fake “Democrat” people like you have sworn fealty to.
@Dave: Ever seen Animal House? You’re Kevin Bacon.
But to answer your question, Hispanics in Florida are signing up for naturalization in record numbers. I posted a link the other day.
“It is time to fight Trump.”
Really? I thought she was going to win easily. You said so right up top.
Hey Anonymous Asshole. Bernie Sanders was the only fake Democrat in the race. Further, “keeping an eye on” does not mean “drudging tired shit from the past just because we are privileged old white guys who did not get our way this time.”
@Deaware Dem: I’ve blown Trump so much, I can’t remember the last time.
If you all are going to spend the next 6 months attacking Hillary rather than Trump, then please leave Delaware Liberal. In fact, under our rules on trolls, you might qualify for a banning.
^ settle down Francis
I know Nemski. You need a napkin.
Wow, the Republicans are even losing some of the slave states.
I love how you couldn’t bother posting for years and returned to attack the Democratic nominee. It has been truly wonderful to have you back.
Well, that’s enough internet for me for a while. Have fun guys!
Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son.
Everybody has seen Animal House, but the Kevin Bacon reference eludes me.
I thought the Hispanic vote might have been offset by the Cuban vote who are pissed at Obama. They represent 31% of the Hispanic vote in Florida and they voted 62% for Rubio.
Anyway, it would be interesting to a see map with purple states to see the toss up projections but maybe it’s too early to move on to the general for a lot of folks.
Parade scene. “All is well!”

The debut of a long career. I’ll bet he’s within six degrees of both candidates.

DD-
There is that poll, but to be honest, I was thinking about the betting markets. SO, I stand corrected. Trump has lead among Republicans in national polling from the outset.
The big influx of wanna-be-voters is Puerto Ricans pissed at the GOP over its Congressional stonewalling of a bailout.
“If you all are going to spend the next 6 months attacking Hillary rather than Trump, then please leave Delaware Liberal. In fact, under our rules on trolls, you might qualify for a banning.”
And now we’re back to this.
Attacking Hillary from the left is not “acting like a Republican,” and it is not trolling. You can ban who you like, of course — you were the specific person my last equation was about — but what you’re saying in effect is that “Delaware Liberal” is a house organ of the Democratic Party.
If that’s the case, as one of your cohorts likes to demand, just say so.
And of course, what are you but a privileged young white guy? “Recognizing your privilege” doesn’t make you one of the downtrodden.
“Parade scene. “All is well!”’ LOL. Got it!
““If you all are going to spend the next 6 months attacking Hillary rather than Trump, then please leave Delaware Liberal.”
I’m sure that many people who are ardent Sanders supporters are in stage 2 of the Kübler-Ross model, which probably further exacerbated by the speed at which Clinton and people here (including me) have moved on to the general.
Even so, the DL reach is certainly not as far as some other blogs and the media outlets and regardless of the debate here, the electoral votes in Delaware are going to go the Democratic Party nominee and even then won’t mean much because the big states are likely to put one of the nominees over the top.
If this debate were happening on a national blog or media site, it might be of some concern. Maybe that’s why I think all is well I guess.
I don’t know where Sanders fans are. I think it’s a shame we didn’t seize this opportunity, but the Clintons, as I said, have been clearing the field for 16 years.
I don’t like them, I never will, and I will hold my nose. But it seems like the Hillary people (not you) are at least as heavily invested in this emotionally as the Bernie people, and I can’t understand why. I mean, yeah, sure, there is no other choice, but telling me I have to attack Trump? What on earth for? Anyone who would even consider voting for him is unreachable by reason.
And sorry, but I think DL is going to have a pretty dull site if its commenters are restricted to talking about how awful Trump is. You might not have noticed, but most of this free media that has propelled him to the top has been about how awful he is. Why would anyone want to add to that? He sucks. Check. Got it. And what’s left to talk about there? How awful he is? So we can feel superior?
Sports fans.
@Dave, the local Arizona papers (i now live there) are at least mentioning the possibility of a Dem win in AZ. I’m not sure, but I remain hopeful that there are not that many insane people in this state 🙂 but Maricopa County keeps re-electing Sheriff Joe, so who knows 🙂
“as heavily invested in this emotionally as the Bernie people”
When someone says they don’t like Clinton, I get it. I don’t like her either. All I care about is what she will do in a leadership role as President. In the cold hard light of day, I want someone who can execute their responsibilities without passion or prejudice. I believe Clinton is that person. I think she can go toe to toe with a GOP Congress and issue some smack downs to them and I think she is smart enough to find the right SCOTUS nominees and bully Congress into approving them. That’s pretty much my bottom line.
However, talking about how bad Clinton is more entertainment than anything else. Starting a conversation about possible cabinet appointments, etc. would serve a more useful purpose.
“Arizona and Georgia will be this year’s competitive battleground.”

Get ready for a lot of headlines like these.
“Starting a conversation about possible cabinet appointments, etc. would serve a more useful purpose.”:
Really? State the useful purpose.
“If you all are going to spend the next 6 months attacking Hillary rather than Trump, then please leave Delaware Liberal. In fact, under our rules on trolls, you might qualify for a banning.”
OUR rules? These are YOUR bullshit rules. But, you may be right. It might be time to leave. Who the fuck made YOU the despot of this blog?
This is not what I signed up for when I joined up almost eight years ago, and I don’t plan on sticking around if you can’t get your disorder under control.
Guess you missed the apology post.
I’m out in Oregon. Read this on the blog. Responded. Didn’t read the apology post. Hope this apology lasts longer than the previous ones.
Sigh. Al M. leaves and all hell breaks loose.
