Trump is just talking out his ass

When I was watching Trump last night thinking, "He really is a dummy." Trump had just finished claiming that his secret plan to defeat ISIS might get shelved if his new Generals came up with a better plan, or he might combine his secret plan with the Generals plan - the key being unpredictability. Then, before I could even say "What the F...?" he managed this complete nonsense.
"We used to say, to the victor go the spoils, and there was no victor there, believe me, there was no victor, but I always said, take the oil. One of the benefits we would have had if we took the oil was ISIS would not have been able to take oil and use that oil to fuel themselves.
I mean, is it me or is that just nutso? Here is RedState, not typically a font of clear thinking:

Nobody knows who the hell is going to win these Dem primaries?

The cool thing about being a contributor here is that there are times when you don't have much to contribute, and that's...okay. Commenters take up the slack. Like now for instance. I have no bloody clue who is going to win these Dem primaries for Lt. Gov and US House a mere 7 days from now. No. Bloody. Clue. But USUALLY there are people who know stuff and they put that stuff in the comments section. Their information is, at time, tinged with wishful thinking, but often time it isn't. It is the straight dope. Not this time though. Nobody has any convincing info at all. It is all idle conjecture.

Baumbach excoriated Barney

State Representative Baumbach lays the smackdown on the empty promises of Sean Barney:
There are six Democratic candidates working to be our next Representative in Congress. (In full disclosure, I have endorsed one of them, [state] Sen. Bryan Townsend, with whom I have served in the General Assembly since 2012.) A mailer from Sean Barney, one of the three leading candidates, proposes a plan to boost annual Social Security benefits by $11,669 a year. Does that seem too good to be true? Of course it is! This promise is irresponsible. As Mary Poppins said, it is a “pie crust promise, easily made, easily broken.” A second of his mailers notes that the other two leading candidates don’t support this plan. Of course they don’t — it is absurd! Almost 40 million Americans receive Social Security retirement benefits. The increase being promised would cost $460 billion annually. A newly elected freshman congressman from Delaware, amongst 434 colleagues (over 55 percent of them Republicans), plans to add $460 billion annually to the program? I find it hard to envision an emptier campaign promise. Taking advantage of senior citizens, offering them a 100-percent false hope, just to get more votes, is the sign of a very desperate candidate, and one that should not be elected.

Clinton is bad at running for President

Sorry about the headline fellow DLers. I'm just being fact based. That sick feeling in the pit of your stomach is your unconscious mind telling you that you know it too. Hillary will be a good President, but she sucks at running for President. Luckily she is running against Trump. And luckily Trump overshadowed her horrible speech on "American Exceptionalism" last night. If she was running against any other Republican (with the possible exception of Ted Cruz), she'd be ten points behind right now.
If there’s one core belief that has guided and inspired me every step of the way, it is this. The United States is an exceptional nation. I believe we are still Lincoln’s last, best hope of Earth. We’re still Reagan’s shining city on a hill. We’re still Robert Kennedy’s great, unselfish, compassionate country.
Who can say all of that and make it sound like she is hitting Lincoln, Reagan, and Robert Kennedy in the head with a hammer? Only HRC, that's who.

Grassley open to lameduck SCOTUS appointment

Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley said the Senate could lift the blockade on confirming Garland for SCOTUS during the time after the Nov. 8 election if Clinton wins, and before the new Congress takes office in January. To that I say, fuck you Chuck. And I would hope Merrick Garland would have the grace to say "Thanks, but no thanks" and allow President Clinton to appoint the next justice. I feel almost certain that he would. Not only that, he should announce today that he'd no longer be a nominee after November 8th.
Eric Trump: Dad is running because he watches waaaaaay too much Fox News and is haunted by the “PC” boogeymen

Eric Trump: Dad is running because he watches waaaaaay too much Fox News and is haunted by the “PC” boogeymen

Let's look at the reasons Trump is running according to his idiot son:
"He opens up the paper each morning and sees our nation’s leaders giving a hundred billion dollars to Iran,"
Iranian frozen assets were unfrozen through negotiations, so this is bullshit.
... or he opens the paper and some new school district has just eliminated the ability for its students to say the pledge of allegiance,
Pure BS. Show me this non-existent school district.
...or some fire department in some town is ordered by the mayor to no longer fly the American flag on the back of a fire truck,"
Again, what a load of crap. Please point me to whatever "paper" carried this story.
"Or, he sees the tree on the White House lawn has been renamed 'Holiday tree' instead of 'Christmas tree.'
Nope. Maybe in Bill O'Reilly's fever dreams, but not in reality.
I could go on and on for hours. Those are the very things that made my father run, and those are the very things he cares about."
So... he cares about utter nonsense. Got it.

Celia Cohen attended TEDxWilmington

...at least I think she did. It is hard to tell because, as she eases into retirement, her blog posts are now 95% content free. Here is the substance: Chris Coons cracked a joke about how unpopular congress is. He had a constituent that stopped getting social security, but he fixed it. Coons also formed a congressional "Chicken Caucus," with a Republican from Georgia. That's, literally, it. I wonder if Delaware Today, Ramone Family of Business, Bonny Anderson, David Deputy, Lisa B. Goodman, Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, Norman D. Griffiths, Laird Stabler, Carolyn Swayze, Frances M. West, S.B. & Katy Woo and Bill Wood feel like they are getting their money's worth.

Trump’s Campaign Manager, Kellyanne Conway, is not attractive

Kellyanne Conway is not conventionally attractive, and judging from her politics her soul is a putrid mess as well. I only mention this because Trump puts so much stock in looks, mentions how attractive or unattractive people are all the time, and it must be killing him to have to work with Conway. Also, she is in the news today because she says that polls are "skewed" by the fact that people are embarrassed to tell pollsters that they are voting for Trump.
