This may or may not work, but hopefully there will be a live stream of the hearing for Insurance Commissioner Karen Weldin Stewart. My fingers are crossed…
Tom Carper Surprise Townhall Call
I am currently on a Tom Carper virtual townhall meeting. I’ll try to liveblog it.
Questions for the Insurance Commissioner
Next week, a joint committee will be holding a hearing with the Insurance Commissioner, Karen Weldin Stewart to discuss a BCBS issue and allegations raised by the partisan, Caesar Rodney Institute. DelawareLiberal may be in attendance at the hearing, but all of the questions will be issued by the members of the committee. However, I […]
Bryon Short Calls for Investigation of Insurance Commissioner’s Office
I have received a number of tips through various mediums in the past hour that Rep. Bryon Short is calling for hearing into the allegations that have been leveled at Delaware’s Insurance Commissioner, Karen Weldin Stewart by the partisan thinktank, The Caesar Rodney Institute. Lee Williams, who was unable to really get to the bottom […]
Insurance Commissioner Enlists Local Help
Last night I received an inscrutable email from my fellow blogger and former Sussex County Republican Chair, Dave Burris. This is not unusual, I rarely understand what he is talking about. But I just received a press release that makes even less sense.
Karen Weldin Stewart, The Delaware Insurance Commissioner, has enlisted the help of David Burris of Milford to assist the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) in local outreach and public relations.

We have probably received more than 50 of them about her since she was sworn in a little over a year ago. Most are rants of unsubstantiated rumors and vague assurances that her house […]

Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi and the House Dems got the CBO score on healthcare reform back and posted the bill online for 72 hours for review. The Healthcare and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010 is posted here [PDF]. Speaker Pelosi’s website has some good links to summaries, the CBO scoring and other info on the bill
Chip Flowers’ Bold Plan
I have talked to Chip Flowers several times in the past at various political events. He and I have made small talk, or discussed small-time political analysis. After just a few minutes with him it is easy to see that he is a pretty nice guy. However, if you spend another hour with him, a […]
School Board Deadline This Friday
Have you ever screamed at a News Journal or State News article about education? Have you been trying to tell people for years about what is wrong with education in this state, county or district? Do you believe that the public education system in this state is a right and should work for our children?
You may be interested in filing as a candidate for the school board elections. But hurry, the deadline is this Friday.

A Grand Jury indicted Earl Bradley on 400 charges for crimes surrounding the rape of 103 child victims. The previously the number of reported victims was 9, but fears were rampant that that number would rise significantly. It appears that those rumors have been realized.
