Has Hell frozen over? Fox News vs. McCain

This can't be good for the McCain camp. (Longer video in link)  Now, as much as I love Olbermann and Maddow this sort of interview has to be far…

Obama raises 66 MILLION in August! WASHINGTON — Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign announced Sunday that it raised $66 million in August, marking another record fundraising month for the Democrat.…

Lies

Seems the honeymoon is over and the MSM is filing for divorce. And from what I’m reading the break up isn’t going to be civil.

Paul Krugman, New York Times:

Did you hear about how Barack Obama wants to have sex education in kindergarten, and called Sarah Palin a pig? Did you hear about how Ms. Palin told Congress, “Thanks, but no thanks” when it wanted to buy Alaska a Bridge to Nowhere? These stories have two things in common: they’re all claims recently made by the McCain campaign — and they’re all out-and-out lies.

E.J. Dionne in WaPo:

John McCain’s deceptions about Barack Obama’s views and Sarah Palin’s flip-flopping suggest an unedifying scuffle over a city council seat.
The media bear a heavy responsibility because “balance” does not require giving equal time to truth and lies. So does McCain, who is running a disgraceful, dishonorable campaign of distraction and diversion.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Palin — with the full backing and support of the McCain campaign — is doing herself longterm political damage with this ploy. The American people are watching her repeatedly lie to them, day after day, and watching her do so with no apparent compunction. This is her introduction to the national scene; this is when her image is being cemented into the public mind. And her image is increasingly that of a guiltless liar.

McCain had Iraq in his sights from the beginning

Want the blueprint for how we got into Iraq? McCain lays it out for all to see.

September 11, 2001: “To be honest with you, Dan, I never thought that an operation of this sophistication and size would take place. I just never did. But I don’t think there’s any doubt that there are countries — Iraq, Iran, Libya, North Korea and others — who we know engage in proliferation of — of capabilities and, from time to time, involve themselves in state-sponsored terrorism. But never did we imagine on a scale such as this.

September 12, 2001: “It isn’t just Afghanistan,” he said, “we’re talking about Syria, Iraq, Iran, perhaps North Korea, Libya and others.

October 9, 2001 — PAULA ZAHN: And as you know, Senator, the U.S. and Great Britain notified the U.N. Security Council yesterday that they reserve the right to strike against other countries in this campaign. What countries are we looking at?

MCCAIN: Well, I think very obviously Iraq is the first country, but there are others — Syria, Iran, the Sudan, who have continued to harbor terrorist organizations and actually assist them.

Oct. 18, 2001 – McCain told David Letterman, “the second phase is Iraq” while linking Iraq to the anthrax attacks.

January 2002, McCain visited a crowd of soldiers aboard the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt and yelled: “Next up, Baghdad!

Obama’s New Maverick-y Ad

If I were McCain I'd back away from the word "maverick".  It just begs to be disproved again and again and again and...

Leave Sarah Palin Alone!

I'm serious. Leave her alone. I know she's a liberal bloggers dream and the posts write themselves, but we (myself included) need to back off. This election is about McCain.…

This one’s for you, Rebecca!

In an earlier thread, Rebecca linked to an article from Politico that might make McCain reconsider his attack the press strategy. Doesn't look like the media will be rolling over…
