The Attorney General's approval numbers remained constant, at 69%, down one point from 70% last month. But his disapproval rating jumped, from 16% to 29%. Who knows, maybe yesterday the Republicans are conscious enough to read the poll.
Last month, Tom Wagner scored a 55% approval rating, making him by far the most popular Delaware Republican alive today. His disapproval was 43%. Our new poll finds his approval to have fallen 9 points to 46%, while his disapproval rating has risen by nearly the same margin of 8 points, or to 51%. I think that makes him still the most popular Republican in Delaware.
I am sure almost every woman has a story to tell, here is one of mine...
I was 25 and having drinks with friends at Harpoon Hannah's (yeah, I know.). A man approached our table and asked me to dance. I thanked him for the offer, but declined. I even offered an excuse, "I'm hanging out with friends tonight. I haven't seen them in a while, but thank you." Frankly, my "no, thank you" should have been enough, but I get that approaching a stranger and asking them to dance can be difficult, so I always tried to be kind. Can anyone guess what happened next?
You can read it if you want. The usual Celia tid bits are present. For example, did you know that Steve Forbes beat party anointed, Bob Dole in Delaware because Forbes showed up? Celia knows it. She says it all the time.
"Good Morning Ma'am, Welcome to WalMart."
"Did you know that Steve Forbes beat party anointed, Bob Dole in Delaware because Forbes showed up here? Uh huh... Sherman Tribbit had a cat named Dusty!!"
Last month Chip Flowers had a 47% approval rating and a 39% disapprove rating. 14% were undecided or are unsure. This month, he improves his standing to 54% approval, and a 37% disapproval rating.
If you have some time tomorrow or Saturday, stop by Leg Hall to witness some of our future leaders in action. The 2012 Session of the Delaware YMCA's Youth in Government Model Legislature will kick-off at 9:00 AM, but the real action doesn't begin until 1:00 PM, when the delegates start debating the bills they have authored. No subject is taboo for these students. In the past, they have debated marijuana legalization, marriage equality, and even a clothing optional beach at Cape Henlopen State Park. The great thing about this program is that there are no Democrats or Republicans - just middle and high school students debating bills that they wrote on subjects of interest to them.
