EPA Hid Cancer Risks From Delaware Communities.  The EPA knew about the risks from a chemical at the Croda plant three years ago, but didn’t bother to tell the residents. This is the most blatant sort of environmental racism, and Delaware has to put a stop to it.  Stop putting plants that pollute in Southbridge, […]

Song of the Day 7/25: The Rolling Stones, “Street Fighting Man”

Filed in Arts and Entertainment, National by on July 25, 2020 3 Comments

If I had any skillz I’d set this to video of Portland dudes deploying leaf blowers against the federal fascists who tear-gas them. Protests sure have changed since the ’60s. “Street Fighting Man” was the lead single from “Beggar’s Banquet” in 1968, but it only reached No. 41 when some radio stations refused to play […]

Rob talks about the Green New Deal for Delaware w/Madinah Wilson-Anton & Victor Perez)

I haven’t heard the whole thing yet, but if the concept of intersectionality bothers you, or if you think we have to sacrifice “the environment” for “the economy” – this podcast probably is not for you. PS – I’m a little behind posting these and maybe missed a few. So don’t depend on me. Just […]

Fuck the Fucking New York Times

Filed in National by on July 25, 2020 0 Comments

I’m just dropping this entire Eschaton post here because it really gets to the heart of the problem with America’s “liberal” media and the allegedly liberal New York Times

That Fucking Bitch

The people who work at the New York Times are deeply broken people.

WASHINGTON — Ever since Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came to Congress as the youngest woman elected to the House, she has upended traditions, harnessing the power of social media and challenging leaders, including President Trump, who are 50 years her senior.
On Thursday, she had her most norm-shattering moment yet when she took to the House floor to read into the Congressional Record a sexist vulgarity that Representative Ted Yoho, a Florida Republican, had used to refer to her.
“In front of reporters, Representative Yoho called me, and I quote: ‘A fucking bitch,’” she said, punching each syllable in the vulgarity. “These are the words Representative Yoho levied against a congresswoman.”
Then Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, who excels at using her detractors to amplify her own political brand, invited a group of Democratic women in the House to come forward to express solidarity with her. One by one, they shared their own stories of harassment and mistreatment by men, including in Congress. More even than the profanity uttered on the House floor, where language is carefully regulated, what unfolded over the next hour was a remarkable moment of cultural upheaval on Capitol Hill.

Sure she was called a fucking bitch, but she used it to tik-tok her way into the hearts of the snapchat generation by elevating her brand!!!

As for “fucking bitch,” here’s the article about Yoho calling her that.

After a brief and tense exchange, the newspaper said, Mr. Yoho walked away from Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, uttering a pair of expletives.

They didn’t even quote Yoho using the naughty words, but they quoted AOC quoting him using the naughty words, because it UPENDED TRADITIONS, and was NORM-SHATTERING. You might say, UPPITY!

These fucking people.

Two Years Ago Coons Bragged About Funding Trump’s Goon Squads

Two Years Ago Coons Bragged About Funding Trump’s Goon Squads

Senate oversight, Coons-style.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, secured funding for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the nation’s fire services, and the U.S. Coast Guard in the Homeland Security appropriations bill, which passed the Senate Appropriations Committee today with bipartisan support.

“Securing America’s borders and keeping our communities safe is a never-ending task,” said Senator Coons.“I’m particularly proud to have secured critical funding for Fire and SAFER grants as well as the U.S. Coast Guard in this legislation. Congress must ensure that the Department of Homeland Security has the tools it needs to respond to the evolving threats, and this bipartisan bill does just that.

Trump’s Goon Squads didn’t appear as if by magic. They couldn’t exist without Coons’ incurious, obsequious bipartisanship.

Delaware Stonewall Corrects 2018’s Colossal Endorsement Fuckups

Delaware Stonewall Corrects 2018’s Colossal Endorsement Fuckups

As you may recall Delaware Stonewall PAC really screwed the pooch with their 2018 endorsements. That fuckup seems to be addressed with this year’s primary race endorsements which include an endorsement of Spiros Mantzavinos over Trump-loving Anthony DelCollo, and a belated endorsement of Stephanie Barry over execrable in every way, Mike Ramone.

I guess you can go back to giving money to Delaware Stonewall PAC if you are into that sort of thing.

MOT Area School Board Election Turnout Bodes Well for Harrington Upset of Hensley in the 9th RD

You can typically win an Appoquinimink School Board seat with 450 votes. Not this year. Michelle Wall got 3.5 times the usual winning number. And while schools board elections are not officially partisan, Wayne Meadows ran openly as a Trumper, so this result is clear evidence that MOT area voters are champing at the bit to punish Republicans motherfuckers at the polls.

ODESSA — Michelle Wall, 42, of Odessa, won re-election to a second, five-year term on the Appoquinimink school board July 21, defeating political newcomer Wayne Meadows by a vote of 1,370 to 806 in the largest school board election turnout of the past two decades.

Michelle Wall wins re-election to Appoquinimink Board of Education July 21.
The turnout for the 2020 election was fourfold to 2019, with 552 voting last year compared to 2,176 this year. The last election to receive nearly 2,000 voters was in 2000.

Song of the Day 7/22: Randy Rainbow, “Gee, Anthony Fauci!”

With apologies to bamboozer, another topical tune, the latest number from Randy Rainbow, this one to the music of “Gee, Officer Krupke” from “West Side Story.” There are lots of people doing political parody songs, but nobody can match the production values the valuable Mr. Rainbow displays (btw, that’s his real name — his father, […]

Diaper Donnie was at it again in his bonkers interview with Chris Wallace, whining, complaining and generally acting like the giant baby that ate America. So here’s another one for that ever-growing Trump crybaby play list. This was the follow-up single to the Box Tops’ smash No. 1 hit “The Letter.” Producer Dan Penn was […]

Trump tells Chris Wallace that he is staying in the White House, even in defeat. Biden Responds

TRUMP: You don’t know until you see. It depends. I think mail-in voting is going to rig the election. I really do.

WALLACE: Are you suggesting that you might not accept the results of the election?

TRUMP: No. I have to see. Look, Hillary Clinton asked me the same thing.

WALLACE: No, I asked you the same thing at the debate.

TRUMP: What I’m saying is that I will tell you at the time. I’ll keep you in suspense. OK?

BIDEN: The American people will decide this election. And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.
