Coons gave Joe “You Lie!” Wilson a pass but scolds Democrats

Coons gave Joe “You Lie!” Wilson a pass but scolds Democrats

In September 2009, Addison Graves “Joe” Wilson-R (SC-2nd) interrupted a speech by President Barack Obama to the joint session of Congress by shouting “You lie!”

Did Chris Coons pull a big sad about that? Did he pen lachrymose Op-eds lamenting Wilson’s lack of civility? Did he eschew ever working with someone as lacking in civility as Wilson? Fuck no he didn’t.

You know what he did instead? After shit dies down a bit, he reached out to Wilson and in Coons-style bipartisan obsequiousness, he celebrated working with Wilson on a “bipartisan, bicameral bill to help drive investment in new energy technologies”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Chris Coons (D-Del.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and U.S. Representatives Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) and Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) today introduced bipartisan, bicameral legislation to establish a nonprofit foundation for the U.S. Department of Energy that would channel private-sector investments and accelerate the commercialization of innovative technologies in energy.

Coons is terrible. There is nothing Republicans can do to offend Coons, and there is nothing liberal Democrats do that doesn’t offend him.

The Joe Biden Campaign is the Hillary Clinton Campaign Without the Super Delegates

In October of 2007, Joe Biden scorched Rudy Giuliani by saying that the GOP front runner for that party’s nomination was “probably the most under-qualified man since George Bush to seek the presidency [and that] there’s only three things he [needs] to make a sentence: a noun and a verb and 9/11.” It was the […]

The world is on fire from climate change, Madinah Wilson-Anton wants it on the agenda

The world is on fire from climate change, Madinah Wilson-Anton wants it on the agenda

As we’ve noted that, in terms of any practical results, our DC congressional delegation is totally AWOL on climate change. That’s a shame, but I guess the temperature is fine in the DC Bubble.

Out here where regular people live, we are fortunate we have people like Madinah Wilson-Anton pushing to get climate change on the agenda.

Here are some highlights, but read the whole thing to see how climate action complements and builds on Wilson-Anton‘s social and economic justice focus.

– 100% renewable energy by 2050

– Creating a Green Bank to fund clean energy infrastructure

– Funding programs that will bring community solar and house retrofitting to low-income and working-class communities

– Passing a Green Amendment to make clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment a right

– Strengthening the complete communities legislation to create more walkable, sustainable communities.

Coons Doubles Down on Being a Complete Dick as Anti-Coons Momentum Builds

Hiding behind Michelle Obama’s skirt in a Washington Post OpEd, Coons (being an aloof, out-of-touch, elitist ass) continues playing the role of civility police, because civility is how reprehensible elitist ghouls tolerate each other’s company in board rooms and yacht clubs, and why shouldn’t the proles be bound by the same rules of decorum, even when the country and the constitution is being ass-raped on a daily basis?

Just pipe down, everyone. Civility and bipartisanship will save us!

Meanwhile the anti-Coons movement is growing This is Esquire’s Charles Pierce on why Coons’ “respect the office” pretext is pure bullshit.

Trump’s full 40 minutes of gloating about the killing of al-Baghdadi is just astonishingly bonkers

It is only coming out in dribs and drabs, because like medusa – nobody can look directly at it without suffering from immediate and irreversible petrification. For example, I only heard the part about special forces “not using the front door” and the “K-9, I call a dog” from watching John Oliver last night.

It alone is grounds for removal from office, but for some reason the press is avoiding it as a stand alone story. It should be front page, banner headline:

The President is a Full Blown Fucking Whack-job!

Climate Change Forces Hundreds of Thousands to Evacuate as fires rage in California – Delaware Congressional Delegation Utterly Useless

Filed in National by on October 28, 2019 1 Comment

Chris Coons gets the vapors when he hears “lock him up” chanted at a baseball game because he knows how richly he deserves being locked up himself for his utter uselessness.

LOS ANGELES — Tens of thousands of Los Angeles residents were ordered out of their homes Monday, joining almost 200,000 Northern Californians previously forced to flee sprawling wildfires fueled by high winds and drought conditions.

“We want people to now enact predetermined plans, grab their belongings, their medications, take care of their pets and be able to get out of that area in a safe and calm manner,” Los Angeles Fire Department Captain Erik Scott said. “This is a very dynamic fire and all residents … need to be vigilant and stay informed.”

Honestly… What the fuck, Chris?

Honestly… What the fuck, Chris?

Seriously. What’s up with this, Senator? What’s your game? You can’t get any further up Joe Scarborough’s ass than you already are. You can’t further impress the Notre Dame law school panel with your even-handedness. You are at the very top of the pile of media ass-kissers. Your disappointed school marm act isn’t getting you any higher on the list of Democrats that make everyone feel slightly queasy. You are numero uno! You’ve locked it up. Relax. Take your foot off the gas. Enjoy the view of Scarborough’s rectal polyps. Mika is going to start looking at you funny if you keep this shit up.

Washington (CNN) Democratic Sen. Chris Coons on Monday shunned chants of “lock him up” aimed at President Donald Trump by the crowd at World Series Game 5. “I have a hard time with the idea of a crowd on a globally televised sporting event chanting ‘lock him up’ about our President. I frankly think the office of the President deserves respect, even when the actions of our President at times don’t,” Coons told CNN’s John Berman on “New Day.”

Trump Expected Love at Baseball Game – Got Loudly Booed

Filed in National by on October 28, 2019 25 Comments

Trump lives in a bubble. Having presided over the killing of the leader of ISIS, Trump fully expected to be cheered at the World Series game like it was a #MAGA rally. World Series fans had another idea.

Donald Trump’s face dropped at Game 5 of the World Series last night when he realized that he was being booed by baseball fans at the 41,000 capacity stadium.

In the build up to Sunday’s match between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros at the Nationals Park stadium in D.C., fans cheered and applauded as players stepped up to their bases. But the atmosphere turned when President Trump appeared on the jumbotron.

The chorus of cheers turned into thundering boos when the commander-in-chief appeared on-screen beside First Lady Melania Trump and a group of Republicans—including Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida.

Joe Scar had a big sad about the booing, but fuck that guy. Fuck Trump & baseball for that matter.

A federal judge tossed weeks of Republican process arguments in the garbage, ruling that Congress has the right to see the redacted grand jury testimony from the Mueller investigation. Just a thought, but wouldn’t an innocent person want an investigation to clear his name? Proof that Trump surrounds himself with the best people: Rudy Giuliani, […]

Do the Delaware Stonewall (not) Democrats have a clear stance regarding not supporting Trump supporters this year?

Do the Delaware Stonewall (not) Democrats have a clear stance regarding not supporting Trump supporters this year?

I basically asked that question to The Delaware Stonewall (not) Democrats’ Mitch Crane on a popular social media website. The answer is apparently “no” or to be more precise, “no…not yet”, but Mitch is working on it.

That (not supporting Trump Republicans like Mike Ramone) is MY position and I expect all the board members would agree. I would like that question to be asked of all candidates seeking our support. They would have to state in writing that they will not vote for Trump.

That is movement in the right direction, I suppose. But wouldn’t it be easier to just go back to being the “Delaware Stonewall Democrats” and dispense with all the Trump supporting contortions.
