I think I'll sit out the primaries. Polling shows that whoever the Dems nominate will win against our historically unpopular fuckwad of a President. And I don't want to get in endless arguments with Democrats who say, "If (my favored candidate) doesn't win the nomination, TRUMP WILL WIN." Just stop it with that nonsense. Trump will not win. So why bother getting all worked up over the primaries?

Murphy millionaire’s tax ad hits the right notes

I love the ads that NJ Gov, Phil Murphay is running. The Ads are aimed at pressuring the state legislature to address tax fairness in upcoming budget negotiations. Of course, why he needs to pressure Democratic legislators to support policies that are favored by 72% of New Jerseyans, and 90% of New Jersey Democrats is a little sickening.

There is a very high level of stupidity in the comments around the idea of "socialism" and I think it is a stupidity that can be tracked to people who have rarely traveled outside of Delaware, and never traveled outside of the United States. I may be wrong, but I'm not going to waste my time trying to educate these nit wits and losers about the workings of modern world outside our borders.

Humanity is acting like a parasite determined to kill its host. We've known that for 20 years and have blissfully ignored it. So, in the ignoring of it we have two (some will say three*) choices. 1) Draw lines, and build walls around our dwindling resources and declare war on anyone who looks at our clean water longingly. 2) Figure out that we need to cooperate like we've never cooperated before, and thereby salvage a little bit of dignity before the end. The first is the choice of Republicans and other Morlock racist nationalists movements. They are openly spoiling for an end times throw-down that leaves 2/3rds of the world's population dead with a bedraggled remnant enslaved as they enjoy the fruits of being on top where they belong. The second choice is the choice of Eloi egg-heads and liberals who somehow manage to still view humanity as The beauty of the world, (so noble in reason, infinite in faculty. In action how like an Angel, In apprehension how like a god). *The third choice is a mirage. It is a worldview that says the Morlocks can be reasoned with. This is the worldview of time travelers from the year 1969 who don't understand the events of the past 50 years. Joe Biden, for example.

For Dem big thinkers, it is 2016 all over again

Charlie Cook speaking to jittery DC Dem consultants and spineless Chris Coons types, says that it isn't "base motivation" OR "reach out to the middle" but it is "base motivation" AND "reach out to the middle." I guess that's progress of a sort. Still wrong, but progress. The real winning formula is "base motivation" THEN "the middle will reach out to you." If you don't know by now that "the middle" is a bunch of sheep that will go with whoever has the momentum, then you are too stupid or too mobbed up in the status quo to bother with. Anyway, it is hard to fathom the fact that we are still contending with this bullshit.

For the DNC's third party-sanctioned debate in September a candidate must clear both of these hurdles: 1) 2% support in four national or early voting state polls 2) 130,000 unique donors to their campaign, including 400 unique donors from at least 20 states Some campaigns don't like it, to them I say "lump it." If you can't get to 2% and some basic support in 20 states please feel free to fuck the fuck off.

I’ve been thinking about getting an electric car

The off lease Fiat500E and Chevy SparkEV are two low milage used cars with great price points.  They both look good in the reviews I've watched.  Both have (around) 80 mile ranges.  My commute is 22 miles.  Because I'd be charging over night, I don't think I'd have to install a Level 2 charging system for speed charging.  And I wouldn't be using this for long trips, just communting.     BUT - I don't have solar, so would I just be robbing Peter (Exxon) to pay Paul (Delmarva Power)?   How much does it actually cost to go electric?   The literature says to figure out my cost of charging at home, multiply my vehicle's kWh/100 miles figure by my electric rate.  That figure will give me the cost per 100 miles.  I've risked humilation by running the numbers and showing my work below.  It looks CRAZILY in favor of going electric, but you may have sensed that I don't trust my math.  Are there any science types out there who have crunched the numbers?   Anyone plugging in at night, and by passing the pump?    Hit me up in the comments, or IRL.
