James Clyburn of South Carolina, a member of the Democratic leadership, said he told fellow Democrats that Obama should both veto any House GOP plan for a short-term extension of the debt ceiling and invoke the 14th amendment, which says that the validity of the nation's public debt "shall not be questioned."

This just in: Cantor then tells Boehner that as chief he should just order the freshman to work harder. Boehner admits that even if he called a meeting, the group would agree to five minutes of work and then "wander off to go hunting."

Except for Barack Obama, there is nobody left in the country who thinks that the Republicans are negotiating in good faith. Everyone knows that the Republicans are simply out to create mayhem in the hope that Obama gets left holding the bag when the economy progresses from gutter to cliff, to chasm. Everyone knows it, but nobody will say it - nobody that is except for Donald Trump.
