Ken Grant, I’m calling you out

You, Dave Crossan and Priscilla Rakestraw were more than happy to have Christine O’Donnell whipping up the hayseeds and fetus fetishists on her way to a 17% spoiler share of the 2006 Senate primary. Now you have regrets. I get that, but don’t try to rewrite history.

You are right to have regrets. This is the Republican Party you created by nominating George Bush and supporting him for two elections. This is the Republican Party you built on the foundation of BeausNotReady.com and countless other acts of unhinged hate mongering. This is the Republican Party that guys like you and Mike Castle nurtured when you thought that Clinton’s impeachment could get you some edge. This is the Republican Party you created when you elected Tom Delay to the post of speaker of the house.

Where was the push back? Where was one finger lifted to head off Christine O’Donnell and the right wing extremists who are now holding the country’s economy hostage?

Aside for the two week period when Mike Castle went into “RED ALERT” mode – there was never a push back. There was only encouragement and possibly snickering behind closed doors about what a bunch of clueless losers Christine O’Donnell could get to the polls and thereby protect Jan Ting.

Have your regrets Ken, but have them in private. Just as you kept whatever concerns you had about the Christine O’Donnell and the teaparty private for so many years.

I cannot think of any endeavor more unnecessary than trying to prevent Mike Protack from being elected to public office.

It is ironic that, in their efforts to prevent Protack from being the face of the Republican party, they made Christine O’Donnell into the face of the Republican party.

    Agreed on Mike P.

Also – Yes. The law of unintended consequences reigns resplendent.

Prozac might have done ok if they had marketed him. Now he’s just another three time loser. (Four times?)

  4. Geezer

No, he wouldn’t have done OK. He’s abysmal at retail politics. He won’t even talk to fellow Republicans at party events. And that’s not even getting into his problems with anonymous attacks on any and every perceived opponent.

Frankly, I don’t think it’s coincidence that the DelGOP hasn’t won squat since Mike Protack got involved in trying to stage a conservative takeover of the state party back in the ’90s.

    Jason,

Wow, I wish I had the kind of power you attribute to me! OK, let’s take a step back here – I was the Communications Director for the Delaware GOP from fall 2001 – end of 2006. This means a couple of things – first, I was helping local candidates with local races – as much as I would love to have the kind of power you suggest, I think I have as much say over who a presidential nominee or Speak of the House is as you do, probably less. Second, I didn’t have anything to do with the ’08 or ’10 election cycles.

So, 2006 – let’s see – I remember one priority for me in 2006, and you referenced it – trying to get the most qualified candidate for Attorney General elected – sadly, I failed in that, and we’ve seen the results in numerous botched murder cases.

As pointed out earlier, my time working with the party came to an end after the 2006 elections, so I’m not sure how I can be held responsible for 2008 or 2010.

If you wish to continue some vague “guilt by association” attack, well, that’s your call – but I reiterate – in no way have I EVER encouraged Christine O’Donnell, her campaign, or supporters.

Again, thank you for believing that I have so much influence and power – part of me wishes I were that kind of power-broker, most of me is grateful that I’m not.

    Sadly, you’re right about that.

Ken is right. I was there in 2006. It was actually nutjob Vance “Off the Reservation” Phillips who encouraged and supported Christine O’Donnell’s primary run and write-in campaign (Vance was not in leadership at the time.) Ken DID NOT support Christine O’Donnell and never has.

Wow. Jason agrees with Mike Prozac. Is it possible that Jason really is Mike Prozac in disguise?

Don’t kid yourself. Obama put his feet in the stirrups and birthed himself a bouncing baby Tea Party.

  10. Hi jason330

All these politician have been taught one thing in school and that was how to sing well. It is a corrupt world out there and it has started as early as biblical times.

No thanks. It wastes my time and it annoys the politician.
