Song of the Day 1/28: Bonny Light Horseman, “Bonny Light Horseman”
Folk music has had either about a hundred revivals since the one in the ‘60s or it has never gone away. I vote for the latter. Styles seem to flow seamlessly from one to the other and before you know it folk music has a new sound. The flow has led to the American acts […]
General Assembly Post-Game Wrap-Up/Pre-Game Show: Thursday, January 28, 2021
It’s Clean-Up Day in Dover. Both agendas feature bills that will head to the Governor after today, with the House mostly working Senate bills, and the Senate working House bills. Here are the respective agendas: House. Senate. The key bills that will likely achieve final passage today: HB 65 (Osienski): ‘Provides COVID-19 related relief to […]

Song of the Day 1/27: A-ha, “Take on Me”
Guest post by Nathan Arizona There’s a scene in the Oscar-winning movie “La La Land” where we see a musician noodling on a synthesizer in a band at a pool party. Played by Ryan Gosling, he’s really a sensitive jazz guy at heart, so we’re supposed to feel sorry for him stuck in this mess. […]
Connect The Seditionist Dots…
Then do something. This message is for AG Kathleen Jennings, Secretary of State Jeff Bullock, and anybody else who might have some authority. First, read this. This is how state officials look at how to deal with Trump’s many shell corporations incorporated in Delaware. Excellent article. Then, read this. A key excerpt: Following OpenSecrets investigations […]
General Assembly Post-Game Wrap-Up/Pre-Game Show: Wednesday, January 27, 2021
A very rare Wednesday session, with full agendas scheduled in both chambers. Oh, and some teaching opportunities for the masses. Woo-hoo! Here’s yesterday’s Session Activity Report. You will notice that the Sussex Tech bill has been replaced with an alternative that ‘does not change the preferences for student admissions or the eligibility standards for accepted […]
Song of the Day 1/26: Big Mama Thornton, “Hound Dog”
Editor’s note: Guest post by Nathan Arizona Many of Elvis Presley’s early hits were written and performed by black rhythm & blues artists. His first single, “That’s All Right Mama,” was written by Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup in 1946. Elvis already knew about Crudup and other black musicians. He had seen him perform (using a […]
Delaware General Assembly Pre-Game Show: Tuesday, January 26, 2021
Yet another truncated session (wash, rinse, repeat) featuring (not highlighted by) Gov. Carney’s State Of The State Address. For reasons I can’t explain, most of Delaware’s recent governors deliver these addresses robotically, Markell being the exception. Robotically–say, you don’t suppose…? Carney will also submit his budget proposal on Thursday. A real Democratic governor would embrace […]

Most commenters seem to think that Trump is just floating this MAGA Patriot Party to keep Senate jurors in line. That makes sense. I only hope the MAGA idiots who Trump is using in the ploy take him seriously and bolt the GOP. MAGA Patriot Party National Committee files with Federal Election Commission WASHINGTON, D.C. […]
Supreme Court dismisses emoluments cases against Trump
The U.S. Supreme Court today tossed a lawsuit claiming that former president Trump violated the constitutional prohibition against him receiving “emoluments”—profiting from a foreign governments. The court instructed the lower courts to wipe away a lower court opinion that went against Trump because he is no longer in office.
Song of the Day 1/25: Gene Clark, “I’ll Feel a Whole Lot Better”
Editor’s note: I’ve been under the weather — a kidney stone hailstorm — so Nathan Arizona has agreed to handle the Song of the Day for a spell. Gene Clark was probably the most talented member of one of the most important bands of the 1960s, the Byrds. Though Roger McQuinn, who founded the band […]

How does inflation work? I think we all know the answer to that question because we’ve internalized Monetary Theory as babies internalize breast milk. “Too many dollars chasing too few goods.” When the demand in an economy strongly outweighs the money supply, prices go up. Therefor money supply must be tight or we’ll have […]
