Bank of America to offer credit cards to illegal immigrants
Continuing to court the burgeoning market of Latino immigrants, Bank of America said today it is test-marketing credit cards for Spanish-speaking customers who may not have Social Security numbers.
The cards, which critics say will enable illegal immigrants to put down roots more easily in the United States, carry higher than usual interest rates and allow users to charge only $500.

This is just obscene. Will they accept a couple keys of Colombian as collateral for a car loan next? Capital One can now give new meaning to the “No Hassle” card.

I’m all for allowing these people a fair chance to make lives for themselves in the US, but are we really applauding BOA’s determination to fleece these people as soon as they cross the border?
I was being funny. This is clearly a cash grab, and that is to be expected in as much as commerce in America has become a “morals free zone” under the Republicans, so NO – I don’t think it is benevolence.

So, how could B of A actually hold contractual loan agreements to an ILLEGAL alien, anyway? What will these interest rates, anyway? If it’s in the article, no I didn’t read it. Being lazy today.
I have no faith in B of A. In my view, they don’t give a crap about locking anyone into debt, particularly those that don’t understand it and “go to town.”
Did you know that I despise B of A? I don’t think I made that clear in the past. I couldn’t care less about them until the Fleet acquisition and their slap in the face to the Fleet-Boston workforce. A deliberate deception. At least they had a quick death. I’m still not convinced of them staying here after five years (hope I am wrong – that’s a whole lot of people).
BoA has read the writing on the wall, the Dem congress is going to grant amnesty to the 20 million illegals already in the country and BoA is jumping in early to scoop them up as customers.

my guess is that to get a $500 limit the illegals will be required to deposit $500 in a special BoA account.
