BREAKING: Castle Prepared To Cave on Stem Cells: Offers Olive Branch To O’Donnell

Filed in National by on April 25, 2007

Mike Castle, clearly feeling the heat from pro-lifers is ready to cave into the President on his signature issue, Stem cell research.

Speaking through Elizabeth Wenk, Castle told The Hill that he “doesn’t think it’s helpful to keep poking the president in the eye,” on the issue of stem cells. Rather, Castle wants water down the bill into “a bill Bush would sign.”

This appears to the back channel olive branch that Delaware’s pro-life community has been waiting for, and yet it is not clear if O’Donnell and Co. will regard this gesture as “too little, too late.”

O’Donnell has not yet been reached for comment.

    Nancy,

Believe it or not, I was not looking for this story, but it is remarkably easy to find instances of Castle’s cowardice.
