Comment Rescue: The Curiosity of Future Generations

Filed in National by on November 4, 2007

I haven’t rescued one of my own comments for a while, but I liked this one at DWA and I wanted to pull the lens back from all the rancor and discord so …

I want to put this thread in a time capsule. Iā€™m going to mark it:

ā€œ2007 Democratic Discourse: Why Republicans Had Even a Fighting Chance Despite the Fact That Everyone Hated Their Policies and Knew They Were Crooks.ā€

Future generations might be curious.

Does it really matter if we disagree about the relative importance of one or two small items when we have common disagreements with Republicans on hundreds of significant items?

  1. Dana Garrett says:

In January 2009 when the Delaware Democratic State Senate Caucus meets behind closed doors and Thurman Adams is still Pro Tem and every Senator, including Ennis, except Karen Peterson votes to keep Delaware’s legislature closed and locked to the people of this state, do you really think that your flimsy and misleading justification about the Republican Party nationally will excuse how you helped to keep the government closed to this state? Do you think there won’t be someone there to remind you and make it public?

If I’m alive, I will. And if you ever run for office, I will have the record of how you worked to keep government closed to its people.

I’m even adding this post to my file.

Here’s the picture of your post that memoralizes it forever.

    Ooohhh….added to the file.

    You crack me up.

  3. Dana is whack. His introduction to his Ennis Watch web page:

“In fact, I’m so anxious to begin, I’ve already started a unique page for Senator Ennis that will be updated and preserved on the internet as long as the internet is running. It’s just a start, but let me give you a peek now:”

…as long as the internet is running??? WTF?

Dana is whack. And he sometimes pontificates on subjects he knows nothing about, but he has a point.

How do you think we got to the current state of closed government? Democrats and Republicans doin what they do best. That would be getting re-elected by taking care of their special interests.

It is a Democracy. That’s what is supposed to happen. I’m sure he would have also set up a Joanne Christian watch page to check up on her promises if she had won. He is very emmotionaly invested in all of this.

    Live long and prosper Dana.
