McDonald’s Ad: “I’m Lovin’ It When China Wins”

Ronald, Grimace, the Hamburglar, and the other characters at McDonald’s have chosen the slogan “Wo jiu xihuan Zhongguo ying,” for their Chinese marketing campaign. When translated the phrase means “I love it when China wins.” Think “I’m Lovin’ It” with a sino addendum.

At first I thought you were kidding…

… but maybe it’s a smart business decision since Americans won’t be able to afford McDonald’s soon.

I haven’t eaten a fast food burger since I saw Supersize Me, but if I did it would be a Whopper with Cheese. Yummy!!

  3. liberalgeek says:

    Nice self control.

I haven’t eaten in McDonald’s in over 5 years (excluding a cup of coffee once a year).

A country to the world like the Bush administration to the US.

The Chinese won’t think they are winning after they see the McDonald’ s nutrition list.

And what’s up with the fonts on this post?

  6. Pandora says:

    The fonts are super-sized! 🙂

  7. Lord I’m addicted to their Southwestern Salads, which only are only available during special promotions. I do admit to liking a Quarter Pounder every now and then (or two or three), but other than that I stay away.

  8. liberalgeek says:

I used to love the double quarter pounder, but I weighed 60 pounds more then…

  9. Dominique says:

I think I found the 60 pounds you lost.

  10. anon says:

You all need a bracelet that delivers a powerful electric shock when you try to eat at McDonalds.

  11. Dominique says:

I could probably lose 20 lbs if my laptop and/or my remote control would deliver a powerful electric shock when I picked them up. 🙂

Actually, that translates to “I only like it when China wins.” I once ate at the McDonald’s at Tienanmen Square, by the way, but I prefer Burger King. There’s a Chinese burger chain over there too called “American Cowboy” that competes with McD’s; I have a picture somewhere of that where they had plastered over the Chinese characters for American, in response to the bombs we dropped on their embassy in Yugoslavia. Ah, good times!
