“It is only those who have neither fired a shot,
nor heard the shrieks and groans
of the wounded, who cry aloud for blood…
War is hell.”

  1. While I’m a big Sherman fan, your point is ….?

I know damn well you don’t mean McCain. Perhaps you’re referring to Obama’s complete lack of competence to be Commander-in-Chief?

  2. jason330 says:

    GA,

By any chance, do you think Bush has been a good President?

  3. mike w. says:

What exactly does Bush have to do with McCain & Obama? Bush has been a terrible President, but I sure as hell don’t want someone as naive and incompetent as Obama in the White House.

And hell, some moron will probably come along and claim the term “white house” is racist….

  4. mike w. says:

And here’s another great quote for you guys.

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”

    – John Stuart Mill

  5. Paul Falkowski says:

“”The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.””
    Agreed…
See you at DonViti’s party? Saturday?
I might have to buy a set of Bose Noise Canceling Headphones and leave all weapons at home except WIT.

  6. My point was that those that have never been to war or even SERVED are the ones that push the hardest for it.

It was not directed towards current presidential candidates. I just thought it was a good quote. Lighten up Francis
