There are lies, and then there are LIES

Filed in National by on August 8, 2008

Oooh! Oooh! John Edwards had an affair and lied about it! Frankly, I could care less. I feel bad for Elizabeth, but really how does this affect any of us?

I’m far more concerned with lies like this.

The Iraq Intelligence Chief, Tahir Jalil Habbush — a man still carrying a $1 million reward for capture, the Jack of Diamonds in Bush’s famous deck of wanted men — has been America’s secret source on Iraq. Starting in January of 2003, with Blair and Bush watching, his secret reports began to flow to officials on both sides of the Atlantic, saying that there were no WMD and that Hussein was acting so odd because of fear that the Iranians would find out he was a toothless tiger. The U.S. deep-sixed the intelligence report in February, “resettled” Habbush to a safe house in Jordan during the invasion and then paid him $5 million in what could only be considered hush money.

In the fall of 2003, after the world learned there were no WMD — as Habbush had foretold — the White House ordered the CIA to carry out a deception. The mission: create a handwritten letter, dated July, 2001, from Habbush to Saddam saying that Atta trained in Iraq before the attacks and the Saddam was buying yellow cake for Niger with help from a “small team from the al Qaeda organization.”

Now that’s what I call LYING!

And before any of you “Moral Values” voters start spewing your bile against Edwards you might want to read this. At least Edwards had sex with an adult woman.

You should know by now that the Repuks are more interested in sex then they are about lies that have caused the deaths of over 4000 of our brave troops or innocent Iraqi’s. So the MSM will shake their heads all weekend . Hillary supporting Obama in Nev. today no coverage just sex on all cable channels since this story broke over 2 hours ago.

The last time I looked Edwards isn’t running for anything.

The Huffington Post is about as “unbiased” as Fox News….

  3. pandora says:

Hello??? It’s Ron Suskind. Have you read ANY of his books? Think he’s the type of guy who makes stuff up? But if you’d prefer another link, I can supply many.

BTW, did you click on and read the second link?

  4. TRUTH TELLER says:

gee I didn’t know that Ron Suskind went to Concord High

  5. benjamin says:

I hear you but the Edwards lie could have resulted in him being the nominee and him being destroyed and four more years of these bigger lies.
So yes, the Edwards lie IS relevant.
Not because I care who he sleeps with. But because we almost asked us to carry our hopes, aspirations and goals with him to the WH and he was willing to fool us into thinking he was a safe messenger for them when he knew he was a ticking time bomb.

  6. pandora says:

Agreed, Benjamin… but he didn’t win. And that’s where we’re at now – Thank God!

Was he stupid, beyond stupid? Yes, and we dodged a bullet. Should he be banished forever for his stupidity and arrogance? YES! But, right now, I don’t care.

Like I said… there are lies and there are LIES!

  7. benjamin says:

I don’t think this is a story that deserves more than a day coverage (and I am sure the media will overdo it until the convention) but you can’t expect the story to be ignored two hours after it broke.

On the other hand, it may be a helpful way for the media to create some drama around the convention that does not involve the Clintons and, self-centered as it is, that’s the upside for me.

  8. benjamin says:

On a lighter note, who would have guessed Obama would turn out to be our safest bet in the end ?
Isn’t it IRONIC or what ?

Hypocrites. You won’t even say it. It takes balls to admit the guy is just another piece of filth. He is a dog. Think of how duped his donors were and he had the audacity to RUN for President…How ABOVE the law for someone who wanted to help the POOR. Told you there’d be a big announcement today…

  12. pandora says:

Above the law? That’s a reach, but you’re right about running for President. Arrogant stupidity.

  13. TRUTH TELLER says:

Look the media is going through their mental masturbation. the cable channels are piss off at him because he made this announcement on a Friday night.

Have you immediately accepted as fact everything said in every book you’ve read? Especially on subjects of this nature? There’s no way I can say “OMG HE’S RIGHT” based on what we wrote in the HuffPo article. I can’t say “omg he’s wrong” either.

  15. i’m glad it wasn’t an underage boy

  16. pandora says:

Haven’t read his books, have you?

  17. ron suskind pulitzer prize winning author

  18. pandora says:

“i’m glad it wasn’t an underage boy”

    No, that’s Republican territory.

  19. TRUTH TELLER says:

Watched David Gregory tonight on MSNBC seemed like the whole panel was playing with themselves. So far they have been covering this story since 2 pm. They should wake up and know that we all know by now that John got laid.

  20. TRUTH TELLER says:

Wow Mike W. once again you have your facts wrong. That’s because you let you mouth run without checking. here’s a fact for you to ponder Ron Suskin today released his tapes of his interviews with sources you know the ones that saw the letter.

  21. snark says:

    “released his tapes ”

    um, not exactly…

he published (on the webpage flogging his book) what he claims are “excerpts” from “transcripts”, not audio recordings

  22. snark says:

I heard Suskin interviewed on NPR yesterday: He sounded like Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory. He offered the CIA guys denials as proof of the conspiracy.

It was stunning to hear Suskins express a complete lack of interest in who signed the “Whitehouse Memo” (and wierd hearing him describe the paper as biege)

  23. snark says:

TT last time you looked Edwards was in the running for VP or a cabinet slot

  24. Merkin says:

Wait…..isn’t Dan Rather supposed to be shepherding this Suskind tale????
