Dave Burris: Wrong About Everything

Filed in National by on November 27, 2008

Wanna listen to a guy who has been wrong about everything over the past ten years?

Me neither. Suffice to say, he is pulling stats out of his ass like a madman without linking to a single source.

If his program has a value (given his track records of being wrong about everything) I guess it would be that elected officials should listen to it as a reverse barometer.

    G –

As a guy who himself has been wrong about everything, I expect you’ll be cheering on Dave in his nonsense blowharditude.

  3. nemski says:

Burris was right about Palin. I’ll give him that.

  4. jason330 says:

If she can get through the rest of the scrutiny, which is clearly bringing together the GOP, McCain & Palin will win. I have no doubt. – Dave Burris September 3rd 2008

He loved her. It is too easy to find instances of him being wrong.

  5. nemski says:

LOL you know better my Jedi Master.

  6. jason330 says:

I found a couple more about Palin incase you wanted to throw down.

I also found this from me over at DP:

    John McCain:

1958: Graduated US Naval Academy 894th of 899.
1960: Used connections to get into flight training school. Crashed twice and once collided with power lines, but was not scrubbed.
    1967 – 1973: POW
1979: Began adulterous affiaire with Arizona heiress, Cindy Lou Hensley.
    1980: Divorced from first wife.
1982 – Used Hensley money and connections to launch political career.

    Distinguished.

I haven’t commented much over there – but, in all modesty, my comments are all first rate.

Burris was initially pretty appalled by Palin, but came around to support the entire deal. Which sort of shows how the modern conservative thing works — you can really only be in if you take on what your party’s elites tell you to.

Which is part of the reason why the Smitty’s and the Colin Powell’s are having Issues.

I think that is why conservatives prefer audio. The words wash over you and you feel their emotional effect, but without transcripts or citations, debunking it is like nailing Jello to the wall.

  9. jason330 says:

Good point. It is all conservative folderol anyway. (My taxes are too high…Wah!…Some black person is getting my tax money…Wah!…The unions…Wah! )

Sometimes tarted up a bit and sometimes not.

Anyway, I think we’ve all learned what happens when that bullshit is taken to be a legitimate governing philosophy.

  10. You’re complaining about Burris putting shit up without links, but what the hell are you talking about? I have no clue what’s going on here. Should you be linking to something??

  11. jason330 says:

Good point. I was going to link to it, but then I thought it would undermine the “don’t bother with Burris” premise of the post.

  12. Ah…gotcha! I’m guessing you’re talking about Dave’s on-air rant from yesterday?

  13. FSP says:

How is it possible for me to link to something while speaking aloud? Should I just shout out the html code while I speak?

I’m happy to share with you whatever data you desire from my show yesterday. All you need to do is ask.

As far as Sarah Palin is concerned, it’s pretty clear I was against it from the start. I tried to play to good soldier for awhile, but there’s plenty of evidence that I was a no.

  14. FSP says:

And I’ll put my track record up against yours any day of the week.

  15. FSP says:

    LEAD committee report $86-$155 million.

    State spending per household.

As far as the per-pupil number goes, it comes directly from the state finance department, compiled by Allen Kemp. Here are two screenshots of his charts.

    Screenshot 1 – Growth

    Screenshot 2 – Numbers

  16. Joanne Christian says:

Hey leave Dave alone. If it wasn’t for him I would have never been introduced to the whole world of DeLib and DWA, kavips, Kilroy, Politics,Delaware Way, Curmudgeon, Watch, Libertarian, et al. It was like a whole new universe opened. And I can’t link that. So Happy Thanksgiving…and thanks Dave for putting me onto these people who keep me thinking! And laughing!

  17. FSP says:

That’s okay, Joanne. Just remember that these tools thought you were a bad choice. (Another thing I was right about, come to think of it.)

So I’m just going to sit here and wait for Jason to say, “Actually, you know what? Dave is right, and he has the links to back it up.”

  18. Gorilla says:

You what the best argument for ignoring Jason is?

A picture of his face. Just makes me want to wipe.

  19. Disbelief says:

I’m not making a point or anything, but is “Gorilla” another Donviti handle?
