Mike Castle Votes For Auto Bailout That He Opposes

Filed in National by on December 11, 2008

It is all about having every base covered for our courageous Representative in Congress.

You have to hand it to him though. He can be against things and vote for them and be for things that he votes against and that passes for being principled around here.

He has worked out a brilliantly unique approach to elected office.

I wonder if he was for the Bridge to Nowhere, before he was against it.

  2. jason330 says:

Not “before” while he was against it.

Although, he might have been against it while voting for it.

Well, I’m not going to criticize Castle for voting for the auto bailout, I’m all for it! My business is really suffering from this downturn.

  4. it was killing you leaving that party post up all day wasnt’ it

Not really. I thought we said “all morning.”

    Bankruptcy is the best response.

Penn Central did rather well after its bankruptcy.

Reorganization with less featherbedding might make for real profits.

The worst case would be taxpayer bailouts with micromismanagement of the auto companies by bumbling bureaucrats and political hacks.

No golden parachutes for the executives. Why should there be rewards for failure? The same should have been true for the handouts for the investment bankers and Fannie and Freddie.

This is my pick. This was awesome blogging by geek. He got the video posted within minutes of doing the interview.

    Liberalgeek interviews Chris Lu

This and his interview with Nicole Dursey (sp?) are my picks.

What a mischaracterization of the vote! Castle voted to allow the automakers to tap money already appropriated to loan to them. That was the right vote; it is not about giving them more money. Too bad there is no truth in blogging standard here.

  10. Yeah, it’s a total misrepresentation that Castle says one thing then does another.

Didn’t he vote AGAINST the FISA bill amendments before he voted FOR them, the difference being the cell phone company amnesty?

Nah, Castle’s not two faced at all.

    Mischaracterization my ass.

Did you read his statement? If being on everyside of an issue was an olympic sport Castle would have more Gold Medals that the old Soviet Union.
