Over in China, they have a thing called the granny police, where the older women keep tabs on all the younger women to make sure they aren’t violating the one child law. If your belly starts to bulge without permission, your local granny informs on you, and the cops drag you off to the clinic for an abortion. I’m sure that’s not the sort of neighborhood stabilization we’re talking about, right? I’m sure it’s all about painting picket fences and stuff.

HUD provided emergency grants in the fall of last year to states and cities for “Neighborhood Stabilization Activities”. Under the HUD program, these funds were to procure, rehabilitate and get back on the market vacant houses or (s0metimes) commercial buildings. Or the funds could be used as a maintenance fund for newer neighborhoods with many foreclosures (doing basic upkeep and surveillance so that they don’t fall into disrepair or get taken over by squatters)

I just told him I was wrong when I said he had his head up his ass.
