DE GOPers Start Getting Their Hate On

Filed in Delaware by on January 29, 2009

Republicans for Voldemort

Earlier in the week, I sent a note off to the Lt. Governor regarding my concerns about eminent domain which was ready to go to the Senate floor. Lt. Gov. Matt Denn was quickly responded and was kind enough to let me publish his response in Eminent Domain: Nemski’s Letter and Denn’s Response.

Even though I did not agree with Denn’s position, I understood it, but more importantly applaud his and Gov. Markell’s continued path to transparency in government. Evenly more important, Markell said he would sign the bill as is if it made it to his desk and Denn said he would vote for the legislation if he needed to.

But that doesn’t stop, the wingnuts does it? Denn was accused of having “logic completely backwards” or that “powerful forces” were using jobs as scare tactics. One commentator here thought that Denn looked “silly” after the Senate passed the bill. One blogger even called the city government of Wilmington, “fascist”. Another blogger inferred that the current administration thinks that property rights are a “luxury”.

First and foremost, what these wingnut bloggers fail to understand is that Delaware is a one-party state. The Republicans and their splinter party hold virtually no power in Delaware, so it is up to the Democrats to open their tent to different concerns regarding any legislation.

Listening and rethinking policy is what the new breed of Democratic leadership is doing. On small scale, we can see that with Denn and eminent domain, and on a larger stage, we see it with President Obamaa as he works to pass the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

But winguts, continue to cover your ears and stomp your feet, because that is what you do best.

Both locally and nationally they have given up on taking part in normal (political) society.

When Castle quits or loses there will be no more statewide Republicans in our lifetime. It is as if they know how poorly thier ideas work so they have decided to take on the comic relief role. (see also Protack, Mike & Burris, Dave)

That’s why, as you point out, we need to make sure we hire better and better Democrats.

Even though I didn’t agree with Denn’s position on this issue, it was refreshing to at least know why Denn took the position he did. The ability of Denn to at least articulate his position makes him head and shoulders above the previous administration.

I’m so sick of Republicans already, which is kind of strange considering they are the minority party. As far as I’m considered unless they are offering positive ideas, they might as well be speaking Greek.

    GOP ‘hearts’ DARTH!

  5. The answer to ED is the 2nd Ammendment people! don’t you get it!

You all are really getting your “Mad” on. Damn!

So, tell me, why do you all support a multi-party system? Wait, do you?

Now, you guys are going to have to perform. The “last eight years” platitude will soon be wearing thin, and you’re going to have to start accepting responsibility for your failures.

Before you start the ad hominums, I’m not now, or ever have been, a Republican.

What the f are you talking about? Just go back to reading Townhall.com.

Yes, I support a multi-party system, but all of those parties must be serious about governance. I want the GOP to start offering ideas again, instead of being the anti-Democrat, know nothing party. The GOP won’t change unless they start feeling the punishment for what they’ve been doing. I guess they haven’t hit bottom yet, because the GOP has not changed they have just become more wingnutty.

“Blah, blah …Delaware is a one-party state. The Republicans and their splinter party hold virtually no power in Delaware, so it is up to the Democrats… blah, blah”

Do I need to use smaller words, Nemski, or just your own words?

BTW, Nice job of holding Denn’s feet to the fire on the ED issue. I was with you all the way.

Let’s see all the Repuk’s voted NO!!!!

They did the same to Clinton’s bill and look what that got us a balanced budget and a surplus.
