OK. How’s this for open-mindedness. Go read Reihan Salam’s piece at the Daily Beast. He’s “conservative” and he makes an intersting point. Of course as he admits, it’ll never see the light of day… but it’s still thought-provoking… VAT.

  2. I assume Delaware Liberal can’t take the truth? The videos we are doing lay it all out for those who want the facts.

First, there won’t be any new health care plan as you allege. All of the events up until now have been window dressing-that’s it. The reported “industry” savings are all wishful thinking and a go along strategy to the White House. The CBO has disregarded all of the so called ‘savings’.

Second, as Obama sees it you can add over a trillion dollars of new spending in order to save money? He proposes more provider cuts to medicare/medicaid (aka cost shifting) and can only pay for his ill advised plan by raising taxes on individuals and small businesses.

Lastly, Obama has again left the details to Congress and that fact shows his lack of leadership but flagrant desire to “sign something”.

I know I’m dumb and lazy, but did Protack answer the question?

No, but at least he didn’t supply another link.

Last night on DemocracyNow.org, Amy Goodman had a Cigna Whistleblower on. Wendell Potter turned whistleblower after seeing people die because Cigna refused to pay for an emergency procedure. What was interesting was…democracynow comes to us via comcast from Phila. Everytime Amy asked Potter a question his response was blocked!! Blocked by whom? Comcast, the government who knows. In order to hear what the whistleblower had to report on an industry he worked in for more than 20 years..you have to go to the website and READ his answers. Wendell Potter claimed that he had gone on a visit to Tenn. and heard about a group of doctors set up in a football field to deliver health care to the poor. He was shocked as hundreds of people were being treated in “animal” stalls. It was then he gave up the industry. Repeatedly he talked about traveling on corporate jets and eating off gold trimmed china, while he knew what Cigna was doing was literally killing people.

This former corporate stated that the Obama plan was incrementalism and the only health care reform that would deliver cost effective, and appropriate health care services and keep our jobs in the US, was the single payer model. He talked about the Swiss system which he believed was the best in the world. He agreed there is no need for more tax payer dollars, there is already enough money in the system to cover everyone! He stated that democrats and republicans in Congress/Senate receive millions of dollars in campaign contributions from the industries they are supposed to be reigning in.

    Sound familiar.

I know this site has specific standards for banning commenters, but Mike Protack is basically running his next campaign with the links to his otherwise-unwatched videos. Is that really something you guys want to be part of?

  7. liberalgeek says:

Actually, Geezer, the links generally go unclicked. In fact, I checked one time and people had only clicked on Mike’s videos once in a week, and Jason owned up to that click (I think it made him feel better about himself).

But just think of all of the crazy that we are accumulating here for Mike’s next run. I get goosebumps thinking about it.

  8. Geezer says:

I clicked on one once, too, thinking it was supporting evidence for his point. Two minutes in, I realized all I was going to get was the droning sound of Protackian sloganeering I haven’t made the same mistake since.

  9. liberalgeek says:

Exactly. The thing is, if he continues to spend his time making content that only He and Jason O will look at, we may end up with a Protack-free election. Wouldn’t that be nice?

  10. farsider says:

Having figured out that the current medical programs the government has labored us with are going to bankrupt the country. The obvious solution appears to be a more far reaching and expansive government program. The government has no intention of paying for this program in the end – they are just going to continue to reduce the money they pay to doctors, hospitals, etc until they match the budget. That way the only people that suffer will be the caregivers, until there are no more caregivers. That’ll take care of the problem in its’ entirety.
