    Rep. Tiahrt reminds us all of how belligerently stupid repubs can be when they need to lie to make their points. Both Obama’s mother and Thomas’ mother were married to their respective fathers when they were born. And this bit of dogwhistling tries to remind those attuned to it that only black women’s lives are so dysfunctional that they would turn to free abortions. But also let’s not get into the fallacy of the entire premise here — just because there may be free abortions or low cost abortions or any abortions at all, it does not mean that women will be rushing right out to get one. Because it is, you know, free.
